I really do hope the R600 blows the 8800's away. Just so i can laugh at all the 8800 buyers. :D

Yes - thanks for that.....I may replace - I'm not sure yet - Once the price is announced I'll see - Speculations on price everyone?!

EDIT - Also - Power needs - Would my PSU support a R600?

Witha bit of luck as they do need to get something out, its amazing how well the 8 series is selling, eveywhere is either out of stock, or have single figure numbers, Nvidia must be laughing all the way to the bank at the moment as they have just been raking it in for months with zero competiton. :)

Agreed, AMD want some of the pie :D

any1 think that now amd own ati they will make their processors work better with their cards and vice versa?

I wouldn't get too excited. The revenue generated from the top tier of graphics cards is tiny for both companies.

I would imagine the status of being No.1 is far more important.

i have 2gig the same as u mate lol

But isn't the ASRock 939A8X-M a DDR1 board as opposed to DDR2? I also very much douby that the Corsair TwinX 2048-3200 CMX is the 'same' as my Curcual Ann..... :D

Yeah id love to see the R600 come out now, im really sick of hearing about the damn thing now, just release it for gods sake, and it would be great if it did demolish the G80, get the competiton going again, get some life back into the market as it just seems dead at the moment, G80 was released last Novmeber, been dead ever since, nothing new at all since that came out, its normally buzzing of new stuff, but now its just dead, and all we keep getting is R600 this, R600 that, its coming, its well bloody boring. :p

yep so that means it about the same as the 8800gtx as that beets 2 1950xtx in crossfire in a few games

I knew they had gotten hold of this article after AMD announced they were delaying R600 to Q2 as they were changing their strategy, they aint done a u-turn, R600 is May still. :p

R600 May

We have talked with several high-ranking AMD executives and confirmed this rumour. So, from March 16th at 19:59 CET - the R600 which you will buy in stores in May will be 65nm, and will consume almost one third less power than the 80 nanometre one. µ

reports are forever conflicting so its hard to know exactly when its out... I dont personaly reckon its gonna show up end of this month but I reckon a launch towards April gotta take place.
