AMD RX 6000 Series UK Pricing ?

How is it going awful though? There is no launch yet? 'IF' there is a stock shortage? At least with this tactic the majority of cards that are available go to gamers/enthusiasts not scalpers? How is that a bad thing?
If you buy a card and ther reviews are pants? 14 days to return from receipt or you may be able to cancel before shipping.
Would it be nice to see the reviews early? Sure but it's a small price to pay to actually have a fair chance at a card. Bravo AMD I say and honestly where is the negatives?

Fair chance of a card, it is going to be the 3080 all over again.

Well the negatives are that everyone thought NVIDIA panicked selling their products before AMD because A) The AMD product was better or about the same in performance and B) AMD would have substantial stock ready to ship in Mid November.

Problem is, they are blocking the reviews before release (shady) they have a tiny amount of stock available to sell. I really do feel bad for anyone that held out waiting on a AMD card to finish their build when the likely hood is they won't have a new card this year without paying stupid money.

Sorry the 'fair chance' should have been written better the context was of a fair chance among us all to bag one out of the avalible stock, not a fair chance of getting one cause there are loads.
Its been talked about to death already, we know 30000 people and there aint 30000 cards, so yer gonna be a lot of upset people again, I just applaud the fact AMD are giving you a fair shot at the pool available, I don't expect to get one, if I do great if not the fight continues next week.

I thought that you can not send something back because you don't like it?

Im so sorry your glass is always half full and leads to such a salty life, hope things pick up for you mate. x
The way this past year has gone do you blame him, blimey! Very difficult to be positive about computer tech. Plenty tv's for sale (never been cheaper), mobile phones, other tech, but computers nah! They are taking the **** with these 'arranged shortages' to bump up prices. Have to admire Microsoft and Sony for sticking to rrp on their pricing. To be honest I am sickened by the behaviour of the computer industry, the greed, scalping, bots etc from the huge companies to the retailers who don't seem happy to make do with decent profit and instead rip off their customers. Ironically I suspect there will be a price to pay for them all in the not to distant future and I wouldn't feel sorry for them. I would like to buy a graphics card from Amd today but not before reviews and I am disappointed in the manner they have dealt with this launch. Not as bad as Nvidia but not much better. I will wait for 'proper reviews' before deciding what to do and plan to buy an Xbox sx anyway. Genuinely hope things get better for all.

I agree with you truly, they have far less stock than they claimed they would, and there are so many variables that could be the reason from PS5 selling more pre orders than the 5 million the PS4 sold in the first 2 weeks of launch to an outright lie from AMD, we will never know. (Both AMD and nvidia have outright lied the whole way along).

That said Nvidia just threw its customers under the truck and said "we will try to stop bot's and scalpers" and the reality is they failed or didn't bother, at least this way AMD is making a big effort to combat that fact?
Again if you want the card buy it, if you dont like reviews send it back or cancel before shipping. I dont see a problem here honestly.

Understand the point totally, but with that mindset you are limited to an Xbox probably in April 2021 earliest says Microsoft and a GPU some time similar, which is great if you are happy to wait I would say the smart move truth be told.

btw loving the chit chat despite the opposing views.

New to me :)

What do you tell the shop?
I'd love to know just in case I do it and they play up.

Right to cancel
There are different rules for downloads and streaming services.

You must tell the customer they can cancel their order up to 14 days after their order is delivered. They don’t need to give a reason for cancelling.

If you don’t tell the customer about their right to cancel, they can cancel at any time in the next 12 months. If you tell them about the right to cancel during these 12 months, they have 14 days to cancel from when you told them."

What about if you have used the graphic card?
Surely they won't take it back then?

Go have a read up mate if your that interested, it should be 'returned as new', that said I have managed to use stuff for a week waiting on something else to replace it and returned stuff as new just fine. Tis a risk though.

Yep me too. Don't know about April, just missed out on two Xbox's in the last 24hrs at rrp. Will get one soon enough. No urgency for graphics card other than I promised my 2070 to my son and typical of the young he wants it now! Lol. I was planning on the 5600X and 6800xt combo but not at current pricing, I can wait till the greed and scalping is over, I may buy a much cheaper card to use temporarily but on looking the prices on all graphics cards has gone up drastically, I wont buy second hand, too much hassle should they go wrong.

The one on Very at 16:18? Yer soz my dude I finally nabbed one, there hasn't been an alert in days and I was sat at the pc when my custom site checker went off, It hit my basket and I honestly thought it would be gone during payment like normal, but result I have a happy 7 year old xmas day :D

Just been reading the last few pages, and had a thought about all the reckless usage of financing tech items. I come from a direct sales back round, and have had the opportunity to visit many people in their homes, thousands I would imagine over the years. I can promise you, the vast majority of people with cash to spend, do not use finance, finance is mostly used by those who are on low incomes and worryingly, those already in debt!

I imagine the vast majority of those who purchase these new, inflated priced gpu's, from either AMD or Nvidia, have little to no money of their own, are on low incomes or state benefits/job seekers etc etc, have very little understanding of the value of money, as they do not tend to earn much of their own, and are the same bunch that excitedly rave on to their mates, about how they got a "FREE" Playstation or Xbox with their new Samsung mobile contract @£45 pm x 24 months, not having the sense to know truth, the truth being they paid in full for their phone, they pay in full for their minuets, texts and data and paid in FULL for their console + interest....

Yes indeed, the real ones who are not helping this situation and buying into overpriced tech, are the ones with less common sense not even realizing when they are indeed actually taking out finance to buy a new phone, that has little to no impact on their day to day usage over the phone they just replaced and sold to CeX for £35 when they paid £700 for it 18 months ago...

Unfortunately, those most vulnerable to tech influence via youtube etc etc, are those with low incomes and mostly rely on finance, kids demanding the latest tech from single mothers supported by tax payers etc etc for xmas, giving into demands for the latest £800 iPhone....

Those with the funds and savings and decent jobs, you have the power to dictate how and when you spend your hard earned, have the willpower not give in to "impulse" buying, its an AGE old sales tactic, and it works....

Those of you that do give in, you have no rights to ever whinge about over inflated pricing, as you are the route cause of it to begin with.

Sorry for the /rant

I can't understand why AMD are persisting with a review embargo until time of release. They did it in the past with some very underwhelming GPU releases, but why continue with Ryzen and now the 6000 series? Why not allow reviews 24hrs in advance like Nvidia recently did. I can't see what issue is.

Might be not cos of gamers to be worried but more of stopping nvidia trying to tweak drivers or cards to match or outperform the new amd cards asap. Just a thought it probs isnt but thats my guess as to why the embargo. That or hoping to keep the share prices incase the reviews arnt favourable and their value goes down a few points or something.
