AMD RYZEN 5000 SERIES 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X NOW ONLINE AT OcUK!!

I went from position 185 to 167.... i dont think im getting my cpu for some time. (5600x)

I know its not easy to deal with stock and its a new launch but.... what a complete joke... terrible updates to the point i had to check their forums instead of their own site and somehow the que went down very little even though they ordered more than 15+.... Im not that bothered about waiting, im just bothered how its handled.

Depends on your definition of soon. According to the last updates 100 are due in with OCUK any day from master distributor and another 25 from non official supplier so shouldn't take that long. I haven't even ordered my 5950X yet as i refuse to pay the inflated prices and will just wait for them to come back down

Just managed to get a bundle deal with the 5900X that wasn't heavily gauged. Comes with a B550 motherboard worth about £100. If I can sell that for anything close to that it worked out pretty standard price. Definitely not the best option but we will see if it turns up and how long it takes for them to build it. It's another option anyway, as these seem so hard to get!

I was wondering, how they still keep selling those bundles with cpu's that are out of stock long ago ? do they get more profit on that ?

They make a profit on it if they can sell more stock and at a higher price than msrp. It should be separate to consumer stock and come in a tray without a box. Companies usually get loads of CPU's in like that in a big tray with **** loads of CPU's specifically for building systems.

364 to 350 on 5900x. Hope they get a huge shipment soon that gets rid of most of us queuing

Same as me, 358 > 344 (-14). I understand that the main order of 200 is now estimated as Nov 24th, but there was a small'ish batch of 85 (?) coming from a unofficial source that haven't seemed to materialize this week. Coupling the 2 shipments together would have got us both over the finish line. The main batch is not enough ......

The Brits are famous for queuing ........ but after dropping out of the 3080 queue, but probably soon to join the 6800XT GPU queue, I'm getting a bit miffed (understatement)

I've seen a different supplier claim they'll be getting more cpu/mobo bundles on Tues....... how are they able to get stock but one of the biggest suppliers in the UK cant?

I can bet that bundles will appear at OcUK next week as well. All those processors that they get from none official distributor will not go to customers who are on the pre order list because there is no point in them losing money if they can make money by selling them along with low budget motherboards. That should be one of reasons why they are not talking about none official distributor cpus. Why loose 10£ on 9500x if you can make money and let us wait, in last post we got news only on AMD shipment for 24. of this month. So that's it lads, sit down and w8. :D

It’s amazing I mean these businesses surely want to make as much money as possible therefore fulfilling all orders is priority - nvidia have missed out on me by a 3080 as I’ll not wait having seen the potential of the 6000 series but I’ll prob wait there too ohh well

I work in importing and yes Felixstowe is an absolute mess atm, I have a vessel that should have arrived on 28/10 and isn’t going to dock until 19/11 due to delays.

All the 30series have been airfreighted in to avoid these issues so you’d though AMD would do the same

No, not when other places can sell it at RRP. I’d expect AMD to be eating that cost at launch to get the product out there. There is plenty of margin in this product for AMD, they already put £50 on this year. If intel came out with something competitive at a lower price, if AMD would drop theirs immediately, there is plenty of scope for them to do it, just little incentive at the moment.

Same thing happens at your normal Apple launch. It buys up huge amounts of air freight capacity every year, once there is enough supple in the retail network they can ship via sea which takes longer but is far cheaper.

I'm throwing some purely speculative conclusions out here regarding last weeks delays. Either way it might provide further context into delays of mass produced goods into the UK since that seems to be the topic of discussion.

Last I knew, AMD's 7nm fabrication process was run by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

Ha Ha ............... getting ex-transport secretary Chris Grayling in to 'advise' the owner of the port is SURE to go well. If you look up Chris Grayling his entry says 'please see the entry for numpty'
