AMD RYZEN 5000 SERIES 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X NOW ONLINE AT OcUK!!

Really hoping that we're not getting another delay for the 5600x... Will be quite annoying if this is how we've found out rather than an official update from them! If they are going to bde delayed, then I suspect I may be jumping onto the 3700x instead for a year or so, as I have everything ready except for the CPU and want my new build ready for CP2077!

Guys, I just got an email saying my order has been packed and in the process of being shipped (I got the Ryzen 9 5900x and was number 15 in the queue, originally 11). I am so excited, this was the last piece missing for my new pc build which has been collecting dust waiting for this new CPU. Hopefully, it will arrive tomorrow with next day shipping by DPD.

Excellent news! A lot of people are in exactly the same situation, awaiting that last component. Hopefully this means they have got some stock in. I fear it might just be a small amount though. Be nice to see if we get an email, as you are meant to when shipments are received!

Good luck with the build!

Pretty much in the same position. Just waiting for the CPU then the build is complete :) Hoping I get an email saying where I am with this pre-order. I'm in with the 5600x.

The lack of communication is really starting to get on my proverbials.

I appreciate it is difficult for all involved, but surely it isn't hard to write a brief note regarding delivery information?

It annoys me more because I work in distribution, we ship items from China/India to the UK into our warehouse and then into our customers warehouse.

we are constantly updating our customers on delays.

so surely OcUK’s distributors should also be doing the same, I mean it’s just good etiquette as a supplier to customer relationship.

Apparently another retailer is quoting march if pre ordering a 5900X right now.
March? WTF. I may well just have to give up and get Zen 2 of some description. Maybe if there is a decent shipment of the 5900x today that moves me further along than the 700+ that I currently sit at I might hold off, but this is just painful.

I'm at position 799.

I've been thinking about this and here's my logic based on the information we have so far:

@Gibbo says there's a shipment of 300pcs 5900x scheduled to arrive 24/11. According to the blog post, this left AMD 26/10. So, let's assume a best case scenario of 1 month from order to arrival.

If another 300 takes another month, then another 300 takes another month, you and I aren't getting our CPUs until the very end of January at the earliest. And this is not taking into consideration how crap shipping is over the Christmas period.

Retailers saying 'preorder now and receive in March' are either naive, deluded or lying.

It's a sorry state of affairs to say the least.

Other retailers are giving daily updates. So weird being treated as a valued customer.
