Oh I called them before I found out there is a forum. Nobody picked and I gave up after an hour. Emailed them and told me to check my email as an updated was sent on Friday. And he believes the orders on the launch day should be fulfilled in 2 - 4 weeks. That was last week

It seems like people are expecting daily updates that there are no updates. As much as you might want more information, if they don't have it they cannot give it to you. People are getting exposed to the realities of a global supply chain, and it's clear they don't like it.
I think it's better to say "no updates" than to not say anything at all. A bunch of people got their 5600x and we were told nothing about what happened, or how many were sent out, or anything. We were given pretty good updates at the beginning but now it's been a week since anyone's told us anything, while apparently competitors are getting updates. I've even sent in a webnote and have gotten no response. They clearly don't care about their costumers

As a supplier myself, it’s always better to send out a message advice of no new updates than to provide nothing for days

Be happy some of you actually have a queue position haha. I only put my pre-order through on th 15th so I'm guessing I'll be waiting a while. Sucks that it's the last piece of my build but what can you do. I think general updates even if it's "no updates" is a good idea but yeah..
Well anyone who was above 511 for a 5900x will move up at least one spot this week. Just cancelled my order due to payment being taken for a 6800XT only to then get an email saying no stock available and refunds will be actioned at some point. Unacceptable to take funds when there isn't enough stock to cover orders.
25-ish units were shipped out yesterday from what some people said. No news from OCUK on what it was or when there's more.
How did you even get that far? I was keeping tabs on several sites and never even saw them available. They literally went from not even there to out of stock.
I’m sorry...that sucks!! AMD is getting loads of heat on the blue bird app for the failed gpu launch. First they said it won’t be a paper launch with the CPUs (massive fail) second they haven’t learned from their first mistake and they also bragged how they will be better than Nvidia. Oh and 3rd they their chief architect had the oo to send a screenshot with his purchase of 6800xt saying that “required some refreshing to get the order through but it worked”...you don’t want to know how people reacted to that post
I thought they shipped several hundred thousand 5000 series globally, more than ever before for a CPU launch, that's the opposite of a paper launch? It's just demand has been even higher than ever before.
I would like to say that’s the truth and I believed that till today.
Chief of architecture is the one saying that, and quote “shipping tones of units”. Now the same guy showed us how he purchased the new 6800xt saying there is no problem. Even youtubers are making fun of him... During lockdown I sent stuff to HK via royalmail and arrived in 1 week. How come apple sold around 1.7 milion iphones on launch day in October without issues? All that while having way more components and needs to be assembled.

Just registered to add to the discourse here.. Position 228 on a 5950x currently (down from 243).. like others I missed out on the 2pm launch as originally heard it was 5pm.. needless to say I was vexed when I saw it had gone live! .. First time shopping with OCUK & whilst I do appreciate the updates being given, I'm not impressed that the launch time wasn't communicated effectively.. £800 was taken last week & STILL no idea when I'm meant to be receiving the chip... & I've noticed as well that some suppliers seem to be on the game when receiving large quantities of the high end CPUs ..
I'm currently wondering if I should have stuck with my traditional suppliers rather than trying these guys out .. I was hoping such a large outfit would have a better handle on updates & negotiating a tricky supply chain setup..
I know that everyone's trying their hardest, it's just not exactly going to plan!

You weren't the only one annoyed by them burying the 2pm announcement mid thread. They also haven't been great with communication in relation to updates but stock is bad everywhere. Hugely frustrating as it is.

To be fair they knew the website was going to get bitch slapped at 2pm so why promote it lol
Because they told people it would be 5pm. So I would say the reason would be good customer service.
