AMD RYZEN 5000 SERIES 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X NOW ONLINE AT OcUK!!

I was hoping to get one before the post Brexit scarcity and price increases.
ditto, i was hoping on a full system upgrade around now..... Not paying over RRP however and given the (hopfully i am wrong but...) troubles coming next year it may now be some time before it all settles down.

however being optimistic, i do have the cash aside for a 5900x, mobo, 32gb, SSD, and a high end gpu (most likley a 3080ti if the jan rumours are true) so hopefully OCUK an come up with a nice bundle once the dust settles.

I may look at the 5900x then as I guess that would have more longevity at 12/24 than a 6/12 part. In 3-4 years time maybe the extra cores in a game will make a difference. I'll be coming from a 4690k so 4/4 I'm used too (running a 3100 as a temp CPU until the 5000 series came out).

5800x in stock today on another site for about 20 mins. Looking at pre-orders for 5900X, that won't be in stock until early Jan.

i doubt they will be absolutely needed, I think the 5800x or even the 5600 will be fine gaming cpus too... but i look at it from simple maths that you are getting 50% extra cores and threads for far less than 50% of the cost. minor tweak in base clockspeed as well iirc means maybe better chance of a better binned chip (total guess on my part).

my last cpu was an i7 5820k. to be honest not sure if i ever benefited from the extra 2 cores / 4 threads of the status quo of the time but i think multi threading has advanced a lot in pc games since 2015

Saw that as well ..... Hoping to see more stock in the coming weeks .... .Anywhere

The way i see it, given the clock speeds, the best chiplets with 8 working cores will be binned for the 5950X and not the 5800X, the best chiplets with at least 6 working cores will be binned for the 5900X and not the 5600X. Not saying the 5600X and 5800X are bad CPU's, for gamers they're great, but just my thoughts on how they're binned.

Given the maturity of the 7nm process, doubt there is much in it in any case.

The 300 units of 5900X that were massively overdue and we have being waiting for since launch finally arrived this week and were booked in today, all being well the warehouse will start shipping those 300pc 5900X orders tomorrow and over the weekend.
Thanks for the update Gibbo

Guess that predicted shipment of 5800x didn't show up. Shame, I was hopeful seeing as competitor sites seem to have received stock this week.

"Around 200pc 5800X arrived in warehouse earlier this week and are due to be booked in today." this is good news still think I'm outside that number unless 150 of you cancelled :p but hope you all receive them soon
