Will there ever be a 16 core chip without the need for a dual CCD, a native 16 core, akin to the native 8 cores, if that makes sense?

That could be a true monster..

I think there have been rumours almost every generation that AMD are moving to a 16 core die, but it doesn't happen yet

I've basically pulled the trigger.

Ordered new ram, 9800x3d and mobo.

The way I see it I will be with my RTX 4080 now untill the 6000 series.

So another 2 years.

Woohoo my 9800x3D just arrived! My heart tells me to build it all after work tomorrow evening... but my head insists I wait until Saturday morning when I have the entire day to troubleshoot when something inevitably goes wrong.

I am so looking forward to seeing the performance impact in my CPU intensive VR games.

I got a full system upgrade to 9800X3D (alongside a 4090!) and I couldn't be happier. It is absolutely blazing fast. My minimum frames went up massively compared to the previous 5700X3D.
It's good to be part of the club. With MHwilds and assassin's creed shadows around the corner I'm definitely going to be putting a lot of time in with it.
