I really hate the CPU market in general in this respect - there are very few CPUs which are actually in a good place in terms of the balance of single core, multi core, gaming vs productivity performance and price point.

So far, I seem to feel more positive about my 14700k, as I perhaps should, but more for the reasons of not feeling overly impressed with any alternatives.

Yeah I bought a 14700K as it seemed the least worst for balance of performance and significantly cheaper than the CPUs it is rarely that far behind. But it isn't what I would have rushed to under other circumstances.

I'm not sure though if those other circumstances exist, in a meaningful way.

I've got an i7 14700F build, more of a workstation / media PC. no complaints at all. It's been solid, but for gaming there can be only be one!

Until the 9950x3d is released? That looks like a powerhouse

Although there is something with multi CCD or something so I'll need to see what the issue is

True, yeah I believe some think the 9800X3D might still be faster in games, due to the way the cache works on the dual CCD chips. Maybe they have figured it out though. It's king for now at least

None of my recent orders have had it, possibly one I'm a bit hazy on that but definitely the others haven't.
