AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I have been refreshing the site all day every now and then, managed to get my order in at 13:57:56 so hopefully will be in the first batch :)

Although I didn't see the delay and ordered Sunday shipping as I have things going on over the next few days, so hopefully I can change shipping to as soon as it arrives in stock
Annoyingly I clicked the free shipping as I was trying to just get it through asap. wish I had done a faster option now. not that it really makes that much difference.

This was an utter joke of a launch. I was very quick and there wasn’t a whiff of stock anywhere. As bad as Covid rtx .

It’s not 2020 anymore and those excuses don’t wash. How you can’t get a CPU 30 seconds after launch in 2024 is scandalous.

When I checked it just came up and said pre order and I got mine in,

Did ocuk have any stock available or was it just pre order?

I ordered 10,000 over a month ago across three UK distributors.
Stock was shipped to UK last week and it seems every UK distributor has had their stock held by customs for past few days, since BREXIT customs is much slower than it used to be, but AMD should know this really and would have been better having a later launch date to ensure at least everybody had some day one stock.

We are expecting 500 units week across three shipments of varying sizes as such we are confident we will clear the back orders we have at the moment (240), unless of course the distributors don't get what they are expecting or some get damaged/lost in transit, it does happen unfortunately.

I am confident however, we will see several hundred next week and all those who got in early, as in before this post will have a CPU next week, but don't kill me if you don't. ;)

Preorders... at least that gives me more time to get more confused about which motherboard to get
I'll admit I did order an x870e, the MSI MPG Carbon while I don't do much work anymore on my desktop I do pull a lot of stuff regularly off my NAS (which is in a rack) onto external storage drives, I also appreciate the second ethernet port... Not sure that totally constitutes the price uplift from x670 though...

You got a link? there are obv different variations of boards then, same with the one I got. 3 different types of "elite AX" B650. so confusing.

I was looking at this one https://rog.asus.com/uk/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b650-a-gaming-wifi-model/ which is clearly different

Thats a B650-A. The one with PCIE5 on the graphics slot and 2 PCIE5 M2 is the B650E-E

https://rog.asus.com/uk/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b650e-e-gaming-wifi-model/

"Fully embracing the new standard, the Strix B650E-E offers abundant PCIe 5.0 support to give unfettered bandwidth to the fastest SSDs and graphics cards available. Both of the x16 expansion slots are Gen 5-ready, and are protected with SafeSlot retention brackets. Two of the onboard M.2 slots are geared for blistering 16 GB/s read and write speeds courtesy of their PCIe 5.0 interfaces, while the accompanying 4.0 pair deliver still-impressive 8 GB/s transfers. And all of the M.2 slots are covered with substantial heatsinks to dispatch the heat of next-gen drives."
