AMD Shares Update On Frame Latency - 13.2 Beta

Got it, ok disabled afterburner, fraps, hwinfo. Used radeonpro overlay, copied your settings, same result. Doesn't work for me, no idea why. I saw the radeonpro overlay it was locked to 60fps though not 58 as instructed. No sound was played so its not loading the profile i guess. I give up. :D

lol am lost mate Only thing I have running is
Steam
Trixx
GPU-z
Realtemp
Avast
Logitech and Corsair and CCC

With Afterburner is that program completely closed down? on screen display and that? Out of the programs you listed I would say that the most chance of a conflict.

Yeah it wasn't running, ive no idea why it doesn't work. Maybe someone else has the same problem. Either way ill just go back to msi afterburner, that achieves the same thing but it just works for me.

LtMatt is right,

I went from Nvidia to AMD and in all the games i played with the Nvidia cards the AMD card is not as smooth, although FPS is 60 capped, a lot of games have stuttering.

Skyrim best way to see this go into the skill tree and move along, you will see its not smooth but jerky.

Scrolling in some RTS is also jerky but still 60 fps capped, so dont fully rely on fraps ect.

I will test these drivers soon as i can see if it changes anything but for now as already mentioned Radeon Pro helps with around 80% of my games, its not the best thing in the world to use 3rd party shiz but atleast it helps, it also has a FPS meter in it so you dont have to have fraps open :)

Have you got it working as well tommy?

Only tried it on FC3 and it worked-using W7 though, couldn't get on with W8, all my AB-Hwinfo configs keep resetting upon rebooting the OS.

The final nail in the coffin with W8 was having to manually open the Xfi's cp to enable sound upon every reboot too.:(

Lol, pulled that face myself many times reading some of the comments on OcUK too.

Furry muff must be something on my end then. Not something im going to spend time troubleshooting with unless it becomes essential that i use it. With D3D over rider and afterburners fps limiter doing the same thing, i can't see that happening. Did you use the official HWINFO tommy as that comes with Auto start up options you can configure so it boots and remembers settings every time, does for me anyway.

LOL sorry LtMatt its not you :P i se eyour against Radeon Pro :P and dont see stutter haha.

But yeah it is there so go check Skyrim like i said :P

Nay bother, been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use that gif. :p

But there is a guy around here who knows what im on about, i thought it was you.

Whats that off btw? That ghost series thing?

Anyways yeah hope this patch sorts of this crap out, really annoying in some games.

Got to say it works for me, tried it on Max Payne 3 and I get limited to 58fps fine.

Which reminds me, must play that some more!

Tried official, beta and older ones, it's a W8 security pita thing afaik, it won't let you config/manually edit settings or files for program files.

Maybe something I wasn't doing right(won't be the first or last), but when your user account is full administrator, you shouldn't have to muck about for hours trying to fix it.

@weehamish,

the only time I have noticed stutter on Skyrim is when vysnc is disabled, it's more or less the same as what was in the video TR posted, but Nvidia are better in said title, there can be no denying that.

I have read elsewhere of the stuttering in Skyrim too in other forums, I'm not implying your doing something wrong, but as it doesn't happen for everyone, maybe there is a software conflict in your system that's the cause.:(

Other titles I imagine it's a mixed bag, it's not a one way street by no stretch.:)

There are both AMD/Nvidia users complaining about stuttering too if you look about.

Oh, and that's Dean Winchester from Supernatural. ;)

Yeah i know its happening on both sides but ive not noticed it in any games when i had my 660 so who can name a few games its happening with Nvidia?

The stuttering in Skyrim with the AMD card is 100% there, its nothing to do with my machine or software its there for everyone. Maybe if you have 120Hz screen its not there i dunno?

4 ways to see it in Skyrim are;

1. Skill tree

2. Move cursor in a circle it will not be smooth

3. look at the ground when moving you will see at the bottom of the monitor it stuttering not smooth

4. In caves and stuff its not smooth at all specially when running.

They are the best ways to see it, some people can live with that, i cant.

I agree about the muck about part, thats why i gave up with RadeonPro. After a while its just not worth the hassle, especially if you have a working alternative.

Trying to think of what ive done that you may not have. I disabled UAC in control panel. I also used start8 to turn windows 8 into windows 7 look and theme. I also used the run command of netplwiz to disable the need to input your password every time windows boots up, it in essence remembers it.

Did yours look like this?

Most importantly did you make sure you HWINFO driver was showing as installed and ticked as persistent? After using the beta i had to install it and tick persistent before it worked on boot.

Other than that, no idea. :D

Where do you get those from, LtMatt? :)

Google images.

Nope. :D

I may go back at a later date when proper drivers/reg hacks surface etc.

No it's not, it's perfectly fine on my rig with vsync enabled. I posted screens in the other thread of my frametimes, they don't lie.

120Hz makes no difference when vysnc is enabled@60 fps or less. :)

Have a look through Nvidia beta threads, you'll find stuttering complaints too.

@ weehamish, Skyrim has latency issues, that is not disputed. but its not stuttering unless you want to call something you need to look so hard for it will give you a headache to see it.

Yes i do play it, it has other issues with some GFX corruption as well, but keep a little perspective here.

If you are getting stuttering you might want to look at other things in your Rig :)
How much memory do you have, is it stable? are you getting a lot of Hard Drive accessing during? and so on.....

I posted a vid last time and got a few people to test it and everyone agreed, so yeah it is there, your just not finding it. Some didnt notice until testing it and the it p them off.

Its not my PC its brand new its AMD cards.

Id say if the game is not smooth its stuttering? Ive just posted 4 ways to test it go and try then and you will see.

Screen shots dont prove nothing its a SHOT its still. My bro has a 580 machine and my mate has my old 660 machine none of them have the same problems.

It is something to do with the refresh rate and Vsync as if i enable Dynamic Vsync with Radeon Pro it fixes the problem.

Before spamming it doesnt do it for me go test it and then show me a vid of the skill tree when moving about it will prove if its there or not.
