I thought that some of you may be interested in this webcast. What draw my attention is where AMD is planning new product announcements. Graphics and gaming would suggest Radeon brand. Is this where we are finally going to see official introduction of Radeon R9 285?

Ok a little confused, a company founded in 1969 that started making CPU's in 1975, they bought ATI in 2006, just what are they celebrating 30 years of ?

The only thing they did in 1984 was manufacture the AM286 which was designed by Intel anyway.

I'm not sure either, even if you pretend that AMD had anything to do with ATI the numbers still don't add up, ATI were founded in 1985.

"30 years of graphics leadership" is a joke as well, it honestly just sounds like AMD are trying to re-write history.

^^ The numbers mean 1985 - 2015, i.e 30 years of GPU history and what's coming next... (next year)

Not 30 years of AMD Graphics, if you look at the pics, the early GPU's are clearly labelled ATI. AMD aren't trying to re-write anything, people are merely reading the article in the wrong context.

Celebrating 30 years of Graphics, and the evolution of AMD Radeon (Upcoming AMD cards)..

It says the evolution of The AMD Radeon GPU's, which should only really be like a few years worth.

It says 'Celebrating 30 Years of Graphics Innovation: The Evolution of AMD Radeon GPU's'

That means the header is 'Celebrating 30 Years of Graphics Innovation' and they will also talk about the The Evolution of AMD Radeon GPU's, as AMD Radeon GPU's are the ones currently being worked on, so it's the evolution of those GPU's, hopefully will get a lot of info on upcoming AMD Radeon GPU's.

I find it really strange that people get weird about the simplest of things, it's all about the context, AMD aren't doing anything wrong here, just going to announce new product and Richard Huddy (A guy who has been involved in graphics for years and years, will likely talk about Graphics history and where it's going in the future.

Seriously people take off your tin foil hats :D

It's even labeled ATI on the AMD pics, omg some people are just to weird...

Pics.....what pics

Or are you counting that unreadable image you posted on post 9.

I can only assume that you mean the one that is buried inside a Facebook link that itself is buried inside an link, inside the original link you posted in the first post.

I do agree that AMD are not really doing anything wrong, (even though I was using personal computers before 1985 which displayed an image therefore has a GPU) but unfortunately the way you posted the info has caused most if not all of the confusion.
So in my opinion the dismay in this thread is really down to you and the way you made the original post. ;)

Haha cheers bru :D, I thought people would be intelligent enough to realize AMD weren't taking credit for 30 years of graphics, but rather as the title of the thread suggests are celebrating 30 years of graphics (Not AMD graphics) and detailing the evolution of AMD Radeon GPU's (Currently being worked on).

It didn't even enter my mind that people would accuse AMD of trying to take credit of 30 years of graphics :D I guess because I don't have a tin foil hat, I don't think in such a way.. Oh well..

I'm looking forward to it, Huddy has been around all the different camps and will likely give detailed info on the graphics history and where AMD wants to go next, should get some next gen info, looking forward to this.

It will certainly be interesting to see, I just hope he doesn't play the I'm working for AMD now so they are the best and everyone else is crap card. If he is honest and forthright about it all it could be a very interesting webcast, certainly one to watch.

Also just a little confused as to why if they are celebrating 30 years from 1985, then isn't this webcast a good few months too early.:p:D:p

I guess by the time the card is released it'll be 30 years?

I don't know who this Huddy is, but people tend to tow the company line for their employers....because ya know, they want to keep their job.
