AMD To Launch RV770 On June 18th

If some one in Israel can get one early and is able to post up results, surley some one in the UK can do the same?

Whats Power Colors phone number?

4870 is coming out the same day. But its meant to be a paper launch only.

Reports indicate although its apparently in very very short supply some shops may have some in stock and will sell on the 25th.

Otherwise its meant to be launched properly on the 8th July when there is enough stock around. :)

From a member of sales at OcUKs biggest competitor.

Well... as normal we actually adhere to any NDA's which are in place and as such until any embargo's are lifted we cannot reveal any information or pricing.

Our lips are sealed and that's all I can say

I must say that the UK channel seems to get the **** deal when it comes down to releases. Companies must put some pretty threating stuff in these NDAs for them not even to say if they will have 4870s in good supply or not on the 25th.

Some of you may think its not a big deal to get annoyed over but in my eyes its an absolute load of **** especially when there are so many people doing independant reviews and previews across the globe and shops in the EU and even the US have the cards up for sale and instock now, and even shops on HK selling them at will and the UK has sweet **** all to show anything.

I just received an E-Mail from AMD stating that some RV770 info can be posted today:

Yes we have just made a decision to change something.

Here’s what we’re planning to do. Effective 3:00 PM EDT today we will be lifting the embargo preventing the publishing of ATI Radeon HD 4850 performance previews. These performance previews may include ATI Radeon HD 4850 benchmarks, photos of the ATI Radeon HD 4850 hardware, information printed on related packaging or photos of the packaging itself, information provided in the ATI Radeon HD 4800 series strategy deck (attached) and related pricing information.

All other ATI Radeon HD 4850 related information provided at the NDA press briefings continues to fall under the embargo until 12:01am EDT on June 25th, as does all information and benchmarks related to the ATI Radeon HD 4870.

Basically what’s happened is our partners have started selling the products and in some cases reviewers that we have and have not sampled have already bought and received the product and published stories. We’re not able to control the situation anymore so we need to give the media the ability to publish info.

UK NDA is different as far as I am aware...

I see no issue with posting scores if you have them but no information will come from **** regd release dates / scores etc

EDIT: We are double checking with the relevant people

Update: We can confirm the NDA has been brough forward for the 4850 & 4870, of course this new date is still under NDA so I can't release the new date, but watch this space.

From sales manager of OcUK's biggest competitor. So it does look like it could be today. :)

Indeed, LOL.

Well at least you can look at the Tweaktown review and see in Crysis at 1920 x 1200 and very high settings the overclocked Zotac GTX 280 is less than 1fps better than Crossfire 4850s. :D

TechPowerUp review note

PLEASE NOTE: This review is not finished, the benchmark numbers are missing. Since the NDA is gone I thought I'd give you at least a sneak peak of the rest of the card. Keep checking back for the benchmarks today. All the information that is included in the review so far is final though.
