AMD trinity build is popular...

Rich, we're talking MHZ overclock here, like 50MHZ if you're lucky.
Sure, the cores are very overclockable, there's just no way to do it :p

But I don't see the board as bad, I know there's some common problems with that series of boards (They won't work in dual channel) having had the issue myself on a like Z68 board, which I've also seen a thread with the Z77 board suffering the same issue, not that I wouldn't buy it, because I would.

That said, I'd go for a B-Grade Z68 board with an entry level i5 as opposed the i3 and the Z77 board, you can still get your PCI-E 3.0, as long as it's an Ivy you've chucked in.

erm just a quick recap...what i linked or what oliver linked is better? im about to order this second and i need to know what im ordering. so should i go for what i initially said or go for olivers set or..something else? im going to be buying a low end gaming pc that i will keep for years. i cant offord to upgrade stuff. moneys tight..

Really, so low? Hmm, either way its a better purchase anyway even without the clocking!

Agreed that an entry level i5 would be better though for sure.

If you cant afford to upgrade for years then use some common sense, save a little longer, and go Intel like I suggested. Do it right first time, then stop worrying about it. :)

Also you may of noticed i spec'd an LG DVD+RW drive, it £1 more, but so much quieter, I made the mistake of choosing OCuk's, Its silly loud.

Your choice on the OS!

Well, there's two minor alterations I'd made if you'd be prepared to ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BG-252-GI&groupid=595&catid=689&subcat=

It's a Z68 board, so lets say in 2-3 years time you fancy upgrading, you would be able to buy a second hand ivybridge i5/i7 K CPU fairly cheap, you'd be able to overclock it in that board, while getting the PCI-E 3.0 advantages, you'd then have full rain to throw in any GPU of your choosing.

Only problem is if you get that board you'd need to get ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BG-001-XG&groupid=595&catid=687&subcat=

All this while being able to keep the base parts, to offset the cost you could always lower the CPU down to ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-445-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=2037 (Which is essentially a core i3 2100 without HT, it says Ivybridge, but afaik it's an SB rebrand) I'd personally keep the i3 2120, the Z68 board is only 9 quid more.

So we're talking 12 quid more.

TL : DR

Either get ;

Agree on the mobo, but don't downgrade the CPU. Great spec and much better than the Trinity.

i dont care if the case is ugly. i dont sleep with it at night haha. all i need is as much power for my moneys worth. im trying to get my head around what im gonna get...so this beats the AMD A10 black edition trinity setup?

Edit: can you post exactly what i need to get in "basket" form? im gonna order it now :D

Either CPU will push the 7750, I mean I've pushed a 6850 around with a Phenom II X2 on other budget builds I've done.

It's all to do with cost, so I've given two options, both allow the board/case, just a variation in the CPU.

CPU wise it's blow for blow, really is situation based, the Intel i3 2120 is better core for core (By a decent margin) and with the HT can compete in some of the higher multi-threaded situations, however in those situations the A10 will have the upperhand.

But in gaming at this level of performance, it comes down to the GPU, the 2120 with 7750 will consistently best the A10.

Not a problem, if you've got any issues when it comes to building, we're always here to help, even if you do see forum wise arguing of AMD/Intel for the CPU :p
One thing I'm not 100% sure on.

I've been building PC's for quite some time now, for a range of budgets, I've never made a PC with lower performance than an A10 IGP (Maybe perhaps I've had similar performance for the GPU, but we're talking 3 years ago now) why has it become acceptable for that to be the GPU performance to go for at this budget?

I've never ran GW2, however I can imagine it being close to high settings, if not the highest.
Have a try with different settings and see what works best.

Which CPU did you end up going with and what are you doing for OS?
