That what OC means. A GTX 980 Ti provides a better experience then a Fury X

And please do not talk about this game, which is totally broken on Dx11, negative steam review, terrible sales, terrible animations, and a terrible PC port.

Funny how apart from 4k the Fury X is getting it's highest fps score on dx11. The 980ti is getting it's scores on Dx12. It might be an OC but it's the highest OC i have seen on a 980ti apart from LN and will not be very common. Even Matts Duo at 1200 is pretty high for the card but will be more attainable than a 1620 core Ti.

Im in no rush, i only play old games, which run fine, newest game ive got is ROTTR, and even thats fine, and works in Xfire too (which is surprising :p), apart from the odd flickering texture, which i can tolerate, but i will be upgrading to a Nvidia card when the time comes, as i think AMD have gone like their CPUs now, they'll just be doing the cards they are doing now, the low/mid range, and Nvidia will doing those, and all the high/enthusiasts.

From a purely business point of view you can't really blame them, go where the numbers are (esp when you haven't the funding to compete with a massive rival). But I do think the lack of a 'Halo' product will hurt them in the longer-term (nVidia will always be seen as better as their top card will completely muller them)

Having a halo card in the way Nvidia have halo cards wouldn't do AMD any good at all, doing halo cards with matching pricing gets them nothing but bad press, they need to stop it.

All they should have is good cards roughly across the performance range at inciting prices.

Nothing more.

PC Gamers are a small proportion of the market, the majority game on Console.

Now look at how many AAA titles launched in the foreseeable future and name how many don't have DX12 or Vulkan as an option.

Its 37 Watts Bru, dress it up how you will its an LED light bulb.

37 Watts for an LED bulb, croly hap how bright would that be, seeing as most households LED bulbs are under 10W.
Maybe this is the type that of bulbs that AMD has been using, giving rise to the future is bright the future is Polaris. ;)

Pointless arguing with him, hes a troll, nothing more... his fall back is "the games broken, rubbish, console port yada yada" when faced with solid facts...

Anyhow this is a Vega thread, not a Power consumption, Nvidia or even Polaris thread.

We have months ahead of us of zero information, this thread should really be closed until then.

I notice The Red Baron has not posted in this thread. If anyone had anything useful to say it would be him.

So yes maybe this thread should be closed for a few months.

I never post anything without links or prof ,where as you keep insulting people because favourite has nothing to entertain or anything competitive in the market. That is the difference between you and me.

Nothing competitive. So how do you explain AMD gaining market share. How do you explain the RX480 being OCUK's top selling card or was the last time Gibbo gave us some sales figures? If you meant nothing competitive at the high end then fair enough but at the mid-low tier AMD are plenty competitive atm.

Market share?

GTX 1080 0.44% (+0.18%)
GTX 1070 0.60% (+0.32%)
GTX 1060 0.17% (+0.15%)
RX 480 0.11% (+0.06%)
RX 470 0.01% (+0.01%)

Now see how many gamers are using RX 480. Mostly RX 480 is bought by minners.

I will go with John Peddie research. AMD made a huge gain and i very much doubt it's down to miners. It was not even down to the RX480 sales as they only released at the end of June so probably never made any impact.

Seriously you will make any old excuse to paint something good for AMD in a crap light.

GTX 1060 launched 3 weeks after RX 480 but it has much more users on steam hardware survey.

Only once in the many years have i bothered to fill in that survey. It's not very accurate if you ask me. Amd make big gains yet i can't see that in this survey which should tell you just how reliable it is as a gauge.

Survey only tells about how many users on steam are with RX 480. All most gamer use steam to buy PC games. People who do not use it simply pirate or do not game at all.

Tbh as a gamer and AMD buyer i am not the kind of guy that fills in a Survey like this. I would hazard a guess that most bang for buck buyers have a similar thought process. We just don't give a damn about others knowing what's in our machines. There will be plenty of Nvidia users with the same thoughts but i would hazard a guess that Nvidia gives more epeen so more Nvidia users would fill it in.

Nvidia does have a much bigger market share so the survey will show that but how accurate is it compared to market research firms like JPR.
