It's worse than i thought as the usual suspect's are trying to act like they are the innocent party. Popcorn to the maximum lol.

Perhaps the Dons should close this thread and all the other ones like it, but then we get a problem. This thread is like your dustbin, you don't like what's in it but you need somewhere to put all the rubbish !!!

Good point!

I don't see the harm with combating humor with more humor. That's not what the usual suspects do. JediFragger was having a laugh as was I. I don't go around saying Nvidia drivers are rubbish in every thread and try to hammer that point home in every thread as some try to do with AMD.

Any how let's get the train started so vega has no chance of living up to the lofty expectations.

Thread is dead, so I don't really care lol and I made humour of your post by adding it to another of your posts. If you missed the humor, that isn't my fault.

how fast this "new gpu" is going to be ?? faster than 1080 or as fast as last gen 980ti ??

I would be very surprised if the top vega card (not vega 20 as I think that is to compete with volta later in the year) isn't in the 1080 ballpark for performance.

Based on early rumour its faster than 1080 and p100 aka titan xxx
That is based upon the Tflops number.
One can say as I do it be a high end card and along the way brightly shiny as vega is.

Personally I look forward Zen CPU release and Vega in a few months.

They've gotta a pretty huge hole to fill in between the 480 and the kind of performance of a GTX1080 has, it seems to me. I expect baby Vega to be around 1070 level(DX11 performance). Bigger Vega better than 1080. They could have course have cut down versions of both to fill in any smaller price/performance gaps.

Not sure about this rumor of a 'new', late 2017 Vega GPU. Seems a bit strange, but who knows.

You are looking at this all wrong.:)

AMD need to produce low and mid range cards that are very efficient with low power consumption that are as good or better than what NVidia have to offer at the time, hopefully Vega will bring some of these things.

Once AMD have got the efficiency right then it is easy to scale up the architecture and produce an uber high end card.

Efficiency, power consumption and uber cards all go together, they are just at opposite ends of the spectrum in the same architecture.

Trouble is, AMD's Tflop numbers never translate equally with Nvidia's offerings. The Fury X is 8.6 tflops and the 1080 is 9 tflops but the 1080 is much faster.

That is why i reckon (if this 12 tflop rumour is true) it will likely be around 1080 performance in games.

The power the GPU has is = but AMD suffer from bottlenecks in the rest of the architecture.

Thats what they need to fix.

So AMD put high bandwidth memory on architecture bottlenecked GPUs.:D

Since when is fury x the same a Vega, fury has a lot of bottlenecks.

Lets hope it is not, but nothing so far, even in AMD's latest offering in Polaris hints that they have eliminated this issue (at least in comparison to Nvidia).

If it is indeed 12 Tflops and performs like a 12Tflop Nvidia card in games, it will be fantastic.

It will be more than 12 tflops as that's for the professional card and the Radeon's usually have much higher clocks. This is assuming the leak is correct.
