Nope

I am just tried of garbage threads like this where people endlessly argue and they can not get the basics right like the actual price of something.

Let me put this in basic facts as to my search.

That is the problem with these type of threads, people are trying to be too clever. There is no need for Google and maths and conversions, all people had to do was go and look up the UK price lol.

This post was made on an RX480.:D

Yea i did realise my mistake but all you needed to do was advise me that there was 2 different sites. Constantly around here we are trying to figure out what the uk price should be by converting from $ to £ and adding Vat. In a way Nvidia are actually being fair for a change as there price is lower than the $ conversion to £. This is actually a good thing although the Titan X is still a rip off in the first place.

Don't worry Kaap i am not a hater and you can buy what you like including the RX480 you posted with :D

The RX480 in 4 way will totally destroy any card on the market including the Pascal Titan.

I got my 480s for a real bargain price from OcUK as it was just before the exchange rate effected things.

I think the RX480 gets judged pretty harshly due to Brexit and the over hype. It's a pretty solid offering to the gtx1060 and will only get stronger. If the £ was somewhere around $1.60 it would look much more favorable. I need to wait on Vega though as i want an upgrade with a Freesync monitor. The way things are going though my jaw might hit the floor at Vega pricing :D. Add to that i am building a full new computer and things are going to get pricey. Probably just pocket change to you though :D

Doesn't really matter if its £1000, £1100, £1200 - its hugely over priced for a card that I don't believe is even the fully unlocked spec for the core and in any other generation would likely be one down from the actual top end GeForce card.

I think we pretty much already know it's not the full spec. It's starting to look like Titan/780ti/Titan Black. Nvidia have had this luxury as AMD don't seem to be able to match them out of the gate atm. Gcn is like your marathon runner to Nvidia's sprinter.

Agreed it is very overpriced.

You compared it to the GTX 470 from a previous generation, it would be more accurate to compare it to the GTX 480. The GTX 480 was not the full fat chip either and just like the Pascal Titan was a pig to run in mGPU setups due to heat and a poor cooler. If anyone is going to use mGPU with the Pascal Titans water cooling is a must.

On the other hand 4 x RX480s will run on air even if things are a bit noisy, something 4 Pascal Titans can not do without crashing due to heat.

Sorry for being pedantic, but when I google Titan X, the top link is to https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=titan+X which is the UK site, so not sure why you get the .com site. :)

It did the first 3 times i googled it and now it comes up with the co.uk :D:D:D.

Edit : Type in Nvidia Titan X and it will come up as .com. Titan X will come up as .co.uk. It doesn't pay to be precise in this instance.

Edited my original post to save others confusion lol.

It doesn't really fit in nicely with the 480 or 470 nicely in many ways - it has far more RAM than the equivalent card transplanted from that generation to this would have had and there are other factors where it is either more like the 470 or more like the 480 as well - but suffice to say if this was any generation before 28nm the card they are selling as the Pascal Titan is more like what they would be selling as the 1080 or 1070 at around the £500-600 price point.

Yep but the writing was on the wall back when the gtx680 released as the top end and it was the gk104 chip. Is it Nvidia milking or just a case of manufacturing becoming more difficult. If they released the gk100 first back then at £500 would they have been able to manufacture enough numbers for launch and after. I don't agree with the Titan full stop but i can see why Nvidia are doing it. By the time the 290x and full gk110 chips were viable people had already got there money's worth from the Titan. I don't see that in the last few though.

Who said Asian workers are more quality orientated, don't believe it. When you see how the thermal pads are fitted in some of the cards and the chewing gum material they are made from you will know it is not true about the Asian quality myth.

Have to agree with that, It's a shame companies don't start building their bits in the states or in Europe as more and more items made or put together in Asian factories are getting worse and worse when it comes to quality which is pathetic when you see the prices of said items.

We are just far to expensive in comparison. Back when i worked in Motorola they showed us a Chinese factory and it was immaculate in comparison to ours and they were able to do the job at a much lower price. We were out of a job soon after. I think Scotland lost 2-3 Motorola factories to cheap labor countries. It's most likely the same for all electronic manufacturers.

Lot of factors for it being more immaculate - cultural, they can get away with pushing the staff around more/higher consequences for staff if they lose their job, etc. Does annoy me though that people in this country can't even get the basics of being organised right in many cases - few even put important tools away properly never mind putting something as simple as a pen back where they found it.

The immaculate thing comes from general mindset of said country, Having worked all over Europe and the UK I found the most manky places to have been in the UK while the cleanest are in Germany with even basic workers taking pride in their appearance and workplace cleanliness which I haven't really found in the UK.

Bingo !

I love England, I'm not English but I do love it but it has some of the most unorderly manky gits I have ever come across in work environments :p

Yea will excuse myself from that as when i work i like everything setup properly so i can work efficiently. I remember coming in to take over from the prior shift and there being phone boards everywhere and thinking where do i start on this mess :D I don't know how others can work in a pig sty and get the job done.
