Vega won't be that expensive. For top end, it will be £858.99 and £858.98 for the lower end :D

Think I would skip if thats what they meant by 1080ti comeptitor or wait till Sterling goes back to $2, which would bring round navi most likely. That high wouldnt be mainstream and I imagine the initial card is not going to be that specialist but just a guess

so let me get this straight AMD confirm Vega is being released this quarter = will be released in 1st Half of 2017 which we've known for ages... how much non-news news do we have to wade through before getting to something of substance?

We know as much about the release date as we knew on Page 1.

Tbh, I think they could push out something now but that they dodn't want to over shadow Ryzen in anyway and this is why the Ryzen launch, although successful imho, has had a couple of bumps in the road (mobo bios etc not really being ready). Basically, they want to have media focus entirely on Ryzen and then entirely on Vega so couldn't delay Ryzen to iron out the creases & I'd agree with that strategy (if that is the one!).

Well, at least we know something.

No one knew anything about the Titan Xp until it was pretty much released... Even with 1080Ti, we never really knew much until it was very close to release. Yet people are demanding to know the spec, the price, the performance months before Vega is released!

Just like Nvidia products we will know more about Vega not long before it is released. In the mean time we know roughly when at least :)

Not exactly long left now. Looking forward to see if Vega delivers, or if it just bring us 1080 performance which will be a bit meh imo unless priced very well.

I get that but they really need to give us something info wise,

The silence is deafening.

So do you guys think the rumour about volta being brought forward is a good sign for vega ? as in nvidia want to cover top spot. Or do we think nvidia are just doing it show that they can ?

So everything seen so far has been "Radeon RX Vega". Not Vega Nano, Vega or Vega X.
Vega 10 is supposed to be a mostly known spec with Vega 11 as TBA from "leaks", but there would need to be some way to differentiate these models at least but no hint has surfaced.

AMD is controlling this too well, or it really will be a single card with no variation and 11 is not due anytime soon.

The difference being AMD are a bit irrelevant at the moment for many, they need to show that they're not.
