Nah mate, this AMD we are talking about here, it will be 1070 performance at best innit. Don't get your hopes up bruv, AMD don't have da R&d money's so Vega is doomed. 1080ti is just sick blud, best drivers and performance!

:p

On a more serious note, bet at the very least it will beat the 1080ti in DX12 and AMD games like doom. Oh and I agree, if anything driver wise AMD is ahead of Nvidia in my experience, nvidia driver take much longer to load and ui is very old. The only two things AMD drivers lack feature wise that I can see is adaptive v-sync and fastsync.

WUT? I don't speak cockney ;)
I still don't expect vega to outperform 1080ti. Only will be close in DX12 titles. At best it will be close to 1080ti. Even a founders edition has more than 12.5Tflops when it boosts. So AIB models boost to around high 19xx to 2Ghz. Seriously Top end Vega will need to have boost clocks of around 1700 to get close.

It's also very possible to want AMD to do well yet still be negative about how you'll think they'll do. Hopes vs realistic expectations - they are not the same thing.

Pretty much where I'm at. I'd like Vega to beat 1080ti, but I realistically expect it'll only match 1080.

I totally agree that efficiency can increase but Polaris 20 serves as a useful benchmark to indicate that the process hasn't improved thus it is a baseline that can still be extrapolated form. 150Mhz should be possible at 300w but I also think it is worth bearing in mind that the mroe mainstream parts might be clocked nearer 1200Mhz due to issues at GF. Clock speed is a combination of the process and the architecture, but architectural differences tht can increase clock speed typically reduce IPC.

Do we know that Vega is using the 14nm LPC process which Polaris 20 used?

seriously, ppl think vega would release in 4 days, with 0 leaks from retailer's samples ?
unless it's a paper launch with actual release few weeks from now, that won't happen.

Launch in 4 days , costs 300 quid , 50% faster then the 1080 ti and thats just the small Vega . All aboard the hype train :)

Ps i also doubt it But you never know

Agree & didn't Lisa Su say you'll be able to buy it before the 'end of June' so that would imply a paper launch on the 8/9th if it happens.

This is quite a good vid on the latest 'leaked' benchmarks:

Prey seems to be very well optimised on nvidia GPU's, it runs very smooth maxed out at 4K, I am getting 60+ fps :D

Great game too. I wonder how well it will run on Vega :)

I get the impression the visuals are as such that it should run well on most hardware tbh.

Still good to hear it's a good game. The original was a good blast.

Yep. I think they were clever to go the way they have. At least there won't be tons of people moaning about performance issues. Plus to be honest you get so engrossed in the game that you soon forget it is not bleeding edge graphics.

Still nice graphics though, on 4K at least anyway :p

havent been able to confirm if 8th/9th is NDA lift date. but who knows . Might just be kept very close and AMD eye only.

just will nice to see finally Freesync owners getting to push their screens hard soon :D

I can't believe an NDA lift date would be so close when we've heard absolutely nothing so far. There was a lot more official information from AMD before Ryzen's launch, plus way more leaks.

Well Nvidia managed it recently, so give AMD some credit, they may have also. Not that I think so. lol

thats what worries me, as I've mentioned before they (Nvidia) kept it (Ti) from vendor's right up until last minute which means little time for 3rd party cards to be produced in time for launch window or get enough made

It'll be the usual, oem cards at first then aftermarket about a month later :)

I'll be grabbing a Vega oem Hybrid from OcUK if the performance is there

If the low end Vega is Nano size and comes in for £400 I'm all over that. Same with the high end Vega matching 1080Ti for £500. Any more than £500 then I'm not sure if I'd pick one up over a 1080 Ti.

It never went anywhere, I just realised that I don't really like a 2-screen setup so I'm back to one.
Yea. I had a nice 3 screen setup once. Looked so cool for a few weeks. But then you realise 1 bigger screen is just much better. Fun for a while though :)
