lol. Yeah, my fps took at big dip on Prey after updating to the latest driver hotfix from nvidia and patch for Prey. Bloody Nvidia, I was keeping 60fps mostly before, now keeps dipping into the 50's all the time. I just uninstalled it, will play my 2nd playthrough in the future once more patches come out. Great game, enjoyed playing it 60fps on my 1080 4K card ;):p

We are similar, we just want AMD to get the price right and not milk us like Nvidia. Nvidia's shares have been soaring as they have been milking us hardcore. I am happy for AMD to milk their top end card like a Titan, just keep the card below which is 10-15% slower at a good price.

That patch fixed a problem with shadow rendering, right? Is it not possible to just use the patch but turn shadows off?

You've lost me

I was saying that in jest. There is A LOT of AMD bashing around here. You're hardly the only person to do that. So the appropriate response would be:

- I'm surpised I'm the only one bashing AMD here.
- You must be new here... Give it a couple of more pages and this thread will be full of bashing.

...but then you're not!

It would be good for them but not for AMD - AMD needs to be making money not just to make a profit from where they are up to now but also to invest in ongoing R&D which is getting increasingly expensive - 10nm design cost is something like 4x 28nm and 7nm is projected to be a whopping 9x 28nm. They need to be hitting the ground running against nVidia's 10x0 replacements not those cards themselves or bring something completely new and paradigm shifting to the market.

Customers don't care about what money AMD need to make. Charge too much, and people will simply buy the cheaper cards or go to Nvidia.

I think you missed how he was saying it - he meant he is normally inclined to be more positive towards AMD.

Which is as maybe but that doesn't change the reality of the logistics for AMD.

Looks like the top Watercooled one could be another Dual GPU solution. It looks very similar to the Fiji Radeon Pro Duo.
The entire shroud reminds me of the Intel Xeon Phi.

So what do we reckon... £350 for 1070 perf, or £350 for 1080 perf?

Don't want to get too optimistic after the 480 and 580 cost upwards of £250 (offering the same perf/£ as the 290/390 had for years...)

1070 perf for £350 would be massively underwhelming tho, since it doesn't raise the bar in any way.

It is the same for both AND and Nvidia, someone posts something negative and the defence force comes out. Negatives never worry me though and unless it gets personal, I don't mind reading fanboy comments and they can be entertaining at times.

Well you can get 580's at around £189-199 for a few models, and I'd imagine that £219 may become the new normal for them, £279-299 for 1070 or better performance.

If it were a dual the numbers at the bottom would be doubled up - too soon for duals anyway.

I agree there are anti AMD and anti Nvidia fanboys, but in my experience the worst does come from the Nvidia side. Doom112 as an example who won't say a good word about anything AMD regardless of anything.

Computex, in 14 days from now, with shipping in June.

From the Reddit thread someone posted this
A Redditter quoting Raj Koduri claims he said:

If that was not made up Raj Koduri was saying the Frontier is not a gaming card and it's the frontier that's going to be available in June with gaming cards coming later.

Or am I wrong?

It's how I read it. The Frontier basically ensures that AMD haven't *technically* slipped from H1...

Coming later = announced later, doesn't mean delivered later, does it :)

They were hardly going to ruin the launch of the RX Vega at the Financial Event with no gaming press there.

All we can do is wait and see, It's disappointing if true though.

I get the feeling this might actually be a last minute change of plan with AMD needing to get these work cards out as soon as possible because of the V100 announcement.
