I said again and again in this forum that AMD will not beat pascal by any means or at any market. They will only beat Nvidia in pricing.

PRO VEGA vs Quadro P5000

In short, Quadro P5000 is 20-40% faster than Pro VEGA in AMD owns slides. 3rd party slides will be more brutal.

Nvidia is not Intel like sitting and waiting to get nailed. If AMD has plans to beat Nvidia than Nvidia will have 10X more plans than that to bury AMD.

I agree there are anti AMD and anti Nvidia fanboys, but in my experience the worst does come from the Nvidia side. Doom112 as an example who won't say a good word about anything AMD regardless of anything.

why yellow and blue ? poor choice of colors, i don't like it
vega E is still using only 2stacks with that bandwidth, so a 16GB gaming vega might be up to the AIBs, if AMD gives them enough freedom.
i really hope gaming vega releases early june, rather than after the FE.

Fury X is one of the worst GPU ever launched in entire high end GPU history.

It is bulldozer 2.0.
So therefore let's all constantly hate on AMD?

You do realise if AMD fall even more behind or go bankrupt it will be bad for us all right?

Anyway. Not going to go into all that with you again. Lol :p

I never want AMD to go bankrupt but what i hate most is silly and childish marketing. Mocking Volta ,even though they have no idea what Volta is about to bring, Overclockers dream and look what fury X turns, etc.......

I want AMD to knock Nvidia out ,but AMD market is based on la la la land. If AMD comes to reality than i will only buy AMD products.

I don't see how AIBs will have any ability to do that. They'll get the Vega chip with HBM2 already on it.
It's built onto the interposer, not the pcb like normal VRAM that can simply be added by AIBs.

AMD not using the Quadro card and professional drivers to do the professional graphics comparisons is extrmely poor form.

It would be too funny if he is wrong :D

Well more and more things point to Vega's competitiveness. We've already seen it runs about 1600MHz on ****** ref cooler, we've seen that it scored 1080 Ti performance in Timespy.
Polaris already showed gains about removing the bottlenecks hampered Fiji, as Polaris kept up with Hawaii sporting only half the ROPs, and Vega is more advanced than Polaris.
So yeah i think it will punch in the same league as the 1080ti.

This, AIBs have no choice in VRAm capacity or speeds with HBM This also has other issues such as AMD is then 100% responsible for sourcing all memory and has to suck up the memory costs, interposer costs and any failure. With GDDR that cost and responsibility lies with the AIB. OF course withe IHV has to ensure sufficient quantities of GDDR is available at the right speeds but as we have seen in the past, some AIBs might choose samsung while other choose Micron etc.

While not a deal breaker it is yet another reason why Nvidia will be hesitant to adopt HBM for mainstream parts as it can furhter cut down yields and thus margins.
