And they won't be able to Volta over it either.
That's Raja worthy right here.

Oh dear..guess it's 1080Ti time
Does AMD usually release all the cards at the same time or is a staggered launch, so top spec first then mid spec then lowest spec?
Considering bandwidths of most Nvidia cards it should be well possible to do well with bandwidth of two stacks. The fact that AMD went with a two stack solution, indicates they must have made some decent improvements to utilising memory bandwidth more effectively over Fiji,as the core will be faster especially if the 40% to 50% increase in clockspeeds are accurate.
First EAX versions were sure primitive compared to Aureal's tech, but last EAX versions and X-Fi's hardware had lots of capabilities. That was the final nail in the coffin - Creative had done a good job before that killing off any competition while suppressing progress of their own offerings.
AMD need to be clear about launch dates at computex, also the performance it might hold not just in hand picked titles, I can see Vega going off the rails as peeps will be fed up waiting for AMD and go 1080ti. if vega was so good I feel AMD would be shouting from the roof tops and putting out specs and performance info.
Thank god for that. Was already getting worried! The Gist on AMD_Stock from the JP Morgan event was.
From Bloomberg Transcript
- Epyc CPU's launching in June.
- Vega's in similar time frame.
- Enterprise OEM's / ODM's are expected to be early adopters.
- Gradual ramp over the next few quarters / years.
- Embracing open software frameworks will help accelerate growth.
A few weeks apart or a few months apart?Usually Top end first, as that's what's happened in the past for their launches.
Fury X > Fury > Nano
290X > 290
7970 > 7950
A few weeks apart or a few months apart?
If a few weeks they can understand the worry but if it is a few months then surely this doesn't change anything?

LOL wut? All they did with the 480 is juicy up the clocks and say '**** it' to the power consumption!! Or am I missing something?
Why? I think Geoffrey, George, Bungle and Zippy are doing a sterling job
I don't think any company does this, shouting about performance I mean, I cannot remember anytime in the recent past that it has happened, I am getting old though so may have forgotten
Also, what they really need to do is make sure they hit the GTX 1070 price point, with almost GTX 1080 performance. That market segments is the next biggest after <$199 and that's what they need to get a hold of.
When they launch the product Amd and nvidia usually talk about performance, but you need a big pile of salt. When the FuryX was launched AMD was marketing benchmarks showing the FuryX destroying the 980ti! nvidia have actually been pretty good lately, e.g. for the Pasacal release they said the 1070 will meet and exceed the 980ti and the 1080 will be 20% faster than 1070.
Considering bandwidths of most Nvidia cards it should be well possible to do well with bandwidth of two stacks.
And two HBM stacks instead of four means smaller interposer is enough decreasing its cost.
While HBM2's availability is likely the reason for RX Vega's delay HBM2 is clearly going forwards.
Memory bandwidth of Vega Frontier Edition basically confirms that 8GB HBM stacks are being made.
Because with four stacks memory bandwidth should be in 1TB/s class.
First EAX versions were sure primitive compared to Aureal's tech, but last EAX versions and X-Fi's hardware had lots of capabilities.
But then Microsoft killed DirectSound along with pushing developing PC gaming to sidetrack to sell their consoles.
And speaking of killing competition shouldn't you be boycotting Nvidia?
Sure 3dfx did very serious mistakes causing their bad situation, but it was Nvidia's dirty tricks which drained 3dfx's last moneys.
Anyway what business sound cards have in graphics card thread?
