Exactly this. If you've got £250 to spend you'd opt for the 3700X, not the 3600XT. You don't have to look too find to find them at that price.
The 3600XT is too expensive for a 3600 class part, full stop, really.
I'm 100% confident that AMD aren't charging 3700X money for a 3600XT. No where near it. What you're seeing is retail pricing based on low volumes of a new product which pushes the price up.
The 3300x for example, started off at about £110. Weeks later, shops started charging 3600 level money. That wasn't AMD turning into Intel. Or AMD turning into the devil incarnate. That's retail shops increasing prices due to high demand.
I think AMD have actually said that they're selling the 3600XT for the same money as the 3600X. What retail outlets charge is up to them. Chill out everyone.
