AMD Zen 6 rumours

Unless they want to use binned silicon and go for a 10-core 9800X3D replacement, keeping the 12-core chips for the higher end client SKUs (e.g. 9950 replacement) and server CPUs.
Maybe. But I think possible competition from intel and also amd really wanting to stamp their stock on the fastest and best gaming processor. Only a guess though at this point. Easier to sell though to everyone currently on an 8 core x3d part if they get 4 more cores. Not sure I would bother with 10

Going the other way for me (from 5950x) - 12 cores should still be enough of an improvement vs the 16 slower cores in productivity (video, maybe some VMs) as well as a massive difference for games.

I don't do video stuff very often any more, but when I do, it's nice to be able to cut render times by sometimes hours (as well as capturing at higher quality without impacting in game fps)

Agreed. I went from a 5900x to a 9800x3d, don't miss those cores at all.
