AMD Zen 6 rumours

Intel are still in lead. Intel massively outsells AMD in ever segment some by as much as 5-1 and where Intel are slower pull much more power and are 70% more expensive.
AMD should increase margins, their work needs be rewarded and they should increase R and D spending.
Even in enterprise? Seems like 90% of the VMs I connect to are running on EPYC

I’m sure in enterprise is 50/50
Had a quick look at reported figures (according to google), AMD is 30-35% (up quite a bit), Intel is ~45=53% (going down) and proprietary ARM stuff is between 8-25% (Massivley up, mainly due to hyperscale cloud stuff...).
Coincidentally, the few VMs I RDPd to today were Xeon Platinum, or Sapphire Rapids :P

Certain segments have bounced to AMD in recent years but I'm not sure how that represents the overall market. Still a lot of businesses which run on Intel where you'd get funny looks for suggesting using AMD heh.

Couple of places I use for server hosting are about a 50/50 split these days Intel and AMD hardware.

Depends on the vendor from my end. HP and Dell still favor Intel in the data centres I have worked in.

Looking at Azure most VM deployments are Intel.

All of our Azure VMs (250+) are Intel.
All of our VMware infra is Intel based also.
All of our Azure VM and infra are Epyc now. It's just not telling us much at all, only Microsoft know exact numbers of their Azure deployments.

I work as a civil servant and our Azure AVDs are AMD Epyc

I know those are ;)

Most of our DCs are all Intel-based, and I have recently been building them out with new data halls of Intel / Dells latest and greatest.

Times, they are a changing?

Maybe? Unless you know the numbers each of these companies runs, it's largely a finger in the wind. I can only speak from my own experience working in this area, designing and building them.

Yes, I am fully aware that other places run different things.
