US: American Horror Story: Asylum

I dont understand why someone didnt do a proper dark serial killer series before.

dexter is alright but borderline doesnt take it self seriously a lot

Watched through S1 with my gf and the suggestion of my mother. Other than her going upstairs for the maid scene it was brillaint.

waiting until S2 is finished to watch the rest as I've only caught the first few minutes of S2 so far.

So to be clear it's the same actors but telling a different story?

Think its half the cast. The old lady next door neighbour and the son that was a ghost are in it, unless they look different I haven't spotted anyone else.

Isn't the devil/nun the girl who the guy had an affair with in the first series to?

Theres a few others i think to.

I don't think so. I thought maybe the one he had an affair with and ended up murdering was the mental patient who was going to be sterilised.
This weeks episode has added the maid who was a ghost as the angel of death. She was the old lady to the woman but a sexy girl to the man in the first series.

Ahhh having checked Imdb. Sister Mary Unice, in the first series, is the ghost who doesn't realise she is dead, and wants one of the babies for her self. She steals the baby and takes it into the basement.
Didn't recognise her.

I also forgot Quinto was the gay dude in the first series. :/

Lana Winters (the lesbian hostage) was the psychic medium from the first series.
Lots of things I didn't notice. I love how they have the same actors but have a different story.

I'm only about halfway in (Quinto just captured the girl and revealed his true nature) and I must admit its amazing! Never watched this before, missed the first series, but picked it up on the recommendation of a friend and it's great.

Very creepy and atmospheric.

I am still unconvinced. The first season was far more coherent and I looked forward to watching it each week...this one sits on my planner until I can be bothered most of the time.

I still find it very enjoyable, but in the latest episode it does seem to have gone off on a very strange tangent. Loss of a few main characters, etc. I do hope it isn't just a season of strange and brutal things, and has a overall story.
