US: American Horror Story: Asylum

I watched it up to ep 10 over the weekend. Its pretty messed up and i prefer it to the first series that i gave up on about ep6-7. I am loving the sway towards the adult orientated shows that are becoming more and more prevalant now.
 
Liked the 1st season better the 2nd i'm undecided, i mean i do like it just that it's not a priority to watch it straight away like the first was.

Best part of the season was episode 10 when they all started dancing in the day room with Sister Jude.
 
What the hell! Did they get the work experience kid to write the last few episodes of this?

It started so well but by the end it was a chore to watch it.
 
Yeah, very weak end to an average season of TV.

Once the shock and horror of the graphic violence dissipates its a very average show. Not particularly cohesive and very difficult to get invested in any of the characters.

Shame, because Season 1 was absolutely brilliant.
 
The last few episodes had the same intro as the first season, which seem odd to me, and then it seem like they just wanted to rap it up really quickly without explaining anything. I was very surprised to see the best characters all just get knocked off.
Was a disappointing end to a brilliant beginning.
 
Weird ending to the series. The aliens seemed to serve no real purpose to the series, like the creator thought "I want aliens!" and regardless of the fact that they didn't fit in just shoehorned them in.

It lost coherency quite a bit toward the end, I think the series would have benefitted from zero alien bull but there you go. I did rather enjoy the last episode and how it tied it all off (apart from the aliens coming again!)

Nothing to do with cancellation though, it has already been renewed ages ago for a third season.
 
Finally got round to finishing it and my original opinion remains, I liked the final episode, but I thought the first season was far superior and I hope the third is an improvement.
 
Problem with the first season is once you get past the big reveal early on it mostly loses its impact and interest. Asylum keeps you wondering right to the end.
 
We are just past half way through this series and its pretty messed up. Really enjoying it. We have watched series 1 and 6 episodes of 2 since Saturday :).

Jessica Lange has been a fantastic actress too. Infact, a lot of them have.
