An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

Just got done with a really great quest.

Its the one with the missing painter, if any of you have played it then you will know what I mean, this one you will remember for a long time :), Would like to thank the person who came up with that one because it was very fun :).

Baught some spells for the first time, basic 25damage ones in fire, ice and shock. So far so good! I think Im ready for another Mage guild quest.

aarrghh, has anyone noticed how annoying it is when the people following you attack you for the littlest thing :p i hit his cut and he was like "now i shall kill you" aarrgghh

Lol, I went into a shop and starting swinging my sword at all his gear, messed the place up proper. Wentover to the counter and all I got was a "Well met" :P

Gamespot have the review up, not read it yet because I have the game and am happy.

The Good: Huge, lavishly detailed world offers tremendous amount of action and adventure; main mechanics like combat, stealth, and magic are fun and well designed; impressive artificial intelligence and hundreds of believable characters; outstanding symphonic score, as well as excellent voice acting and sound effects; tremendous replay value, plus gorgeous graphics to make it easy on the eyes.

The Bad: Frequent though fairly brief loading times; you might run into some technical issues with performance.

Frequent though fairly breif loading times? All I see is "loading area" flash on and then half a second later off again, not once have I ran into a mega long load time on the fly. I consider this game to load very fast :), from me clicking the icon on my desktop im playing within seconds(just tested it, 15 seconds from clicking the desktop link to playing the game).

he he My raptor came today. So finally after installing windows and stuff I got around to installing oblivion. :)

It seems to be running fine on my system but I haven't ventured outside yet.

I'm just entering the sewers.Enjoying it so far but I have just been grabbing everything I can find.

must learn to be selective on the stuff i find

Welcome to the RAptor brotherhood myfriend, let the night mother guide us with out 15 second from desktop to oblivion load time. :)

Edit:

Incase any of you wanted to restart the game but not go through the tutorial again I have uploaded a save I made, this is just before you exit the sewers where you get the option to totaly remake your character.

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/nield123/StartFresh.ess

just shove it in "My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves\" then load the game and look for the save named StartFresh.

I'm going to moan yet again about the state of the console-ness of parts of this game. It winds me up.... Maybe I need a lie down.

Dont bother urself with it. The modders will de consolify the crappest parts

Name save games (even tho if you manualy name them out of game it works fine),
Bound to be mods to change the leveling system as people dont like it,
someone will most likley improve different console aspects.

At least we have a choice to change it, its not like Rainbow six or anything where we dont have a choice but to live with the console port.

At first I made a Theif, then a mage and then another theif/assasin and now pure combat.

I seem to be doing okay with the pure combat build, I stopped using hte others because I couldnt explore anything as I would get my arse handed tome.

Ive noticed the trick to lockpicking, let me see if I can explain it.

If you tap the things up a few times you will notice that it will fall fast then slow, then fast then slow and so on.

Now when you try and lock it in place when it falls fast your just not going to do it, but if you try it when it falls slow you will crack it easy, this is why I can pick Very Hard locks with jack all skill in lock picking.

Pretty shallow really :(

Not sure if I explained it good there but what the hell :P

Okay so I started to loose intrest in oblivion after my mage character started to suck monkey nuts, hardly checked the thread or been keeping up with the mods thaty have been coming out.

But, has anyone released a good Mage Guide? Right now my mage sucks because I just lvled loads and didnt upgrade my spells at all, Im low on money and cant buy any powerful spells because I cant get out and make money because my current spells suck, its a bit of a bad place to be.

I wouldnt mind remaking my Mage character over, because the mage recommendation quests were really good and kept me occupide for about 10 Hours :).

So what are the must have mods and where can I find a mages guide?

EDIT: Oh and anything you guys want in the first post of this thread? Like links and such?
