Well, that was an interesting evening. I noticed last night that it had all started coming back so I got myself back to the hospital today. They said that the course of steroids I was put on shouldn't have just been five days, it should have been that high dose to start and then slowly reduce.

So right now, my foot looks like this. I'm effectively back to the start :(
