My Grandad has a 56 plate (2007) Ford Fiesta Style which has done <7,000 miles and because of ill health he isn't meant to drive any more. I'm starting a new job next week which means 80 miles of driving every week day, so say over the next 6 months that'll ~10k miles. Come 6/7 months time when I go back to uni I'll have two options, either keep the car or sell it.


If I decided to sell it how much would I be able to get for it? Having a look on Autotrader they seem to be around £5-6k, good idea to get a few quid when I finish work?

See thats funny, if this was say, 1981, and someone said to you, do 80 miles a day in a 2.3 litre Cortina, you'd say, ok, get in! *fist pump*.

But you wont do it in 2012 with a car thats just as fast.

Apart from the rather pointless comparison, a Mk IV Cortina with a 2.3L V6 Cologne is rather quicker than a 1.25L Fiesta.
 
I can't think of much worse than a Young lad driving about in a Grandad car, Stop being sensible it doesn't suit your age. :p
