An update, about my leg...

Yep, never give up @Vidar

Have you been to the RHOH? I got the local consultant looking after the Mrs who has severe nerve pain in her leg to refer her and she's had a bit more luck (not perfect, but yet another op later she's progressed, and has quite a few hours a day of respite and has returned to work).

Always hang in there, I had 6 years of hell with a nerve impacted by a bulging disk, local hospital/GP did not diagnose it correctly, just telling me it was lower back pain as I was 32 and these things happen.. For at least 4 years I was either laid on the settee with legs dangling over the arm, or stood up at a filing cabinet with a laptop to carry on working) I managed to get on the company private medical scheme that covered pre-existing conditions (they did that just for me, bless em) and instantly had the MRI, and 2 weeks later the op.. it was an easy issue though, but the 6 years of pain was crazy, I literally had to have diazepan at times because I started getting deliirious.

My sister has scoliosis and similarly had a bad diagnosis from the local hospital, never fixed it and again, the RNOH stepped in (which is why I knew about it for the Mrs).. they've stopped it from progressing and whilst they can't now sort it due to the skeletal damage, she's able to function quite well and can enjoy life a bit more.

Just read your original thread. Wow. I guess I never really considered that a broken leg could go so bad from a single kick. In my head, every time my boys play football for example and get smashed, I always say to myself it'll be fine, worst case broken leg. But actually it clearly can be a life injury of pain. I feel for you.
I would get a second opinion 100%. Imagine a different medical professional disagrees and sees a possible different path/options.
