Hopefully when he retires he’ll be knighted then. It seems that some drivers had to wait decades for it. Maybe he should become a cricketer, they seem to get them more easily.

Sorry, but that's just more ********. While I agree that Hamilton's achievements warrant a knighthood, let's not lose sight of the facts in the opinion.

Firstly, Hamilton was awarded an MBE after his first world championship, so there is some recognition there already. Not up there with other sports I'll grant you, but he's been on the list.

Secondly, do cricketers really get them more easily? I presume you're referring to the current awards, none of which were knighthoods. The 'recent' knighthoods given to cricketers were to Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook and Geoffrey Boycott - all in 2019 and all once retired from international sport.

Perhaps there's generally more recognition of sports that aren't as elitist and which are more generally accessible, and which are more popular in the home nation.
