And the GOTY award goes to...

You can imagine Valve being the geeks sat in the corner at these things just knowing they are better than everyone else there.

Isn't it to early to do GOTY? Surely they should do it at the end of December where all of the holiday season games are released.

They do it as a year since the last awards. Black Ops was released in 2010, but included in this as it was released after the 2010 awards.

So one can presume that BF3 will be eligible for next years award.

The One to Watch award should've gone to Black Ops' single player campaign as that's all you bloody do: watch it.

For those thinking Forza 4 should have been chosen over GT5 isn't F4 a really recent game? Wouldn't surprise me if it missed the cut off point for nominations.

Personally I thought Medal of Honor was a lot better than blops on the shooter front.

Forza would have missed the nominations cut off by quite a bit i'd have thought

As for your MoH comment... I can't remember the last time I felt like i'd wasted my money so badly :p

To be honest I think Portal 2 got that "Ultimate" award because they couldn't find a suitable category for it, in the absence of "puzzle" I suppose it could be classed as "strategy".

DE:HR I was sat trying to think where I would fit it in, bit of a jack of all trades, as a pure shooter it isn't anything outstanding, and as an RPG maybe a bit shallow for some tastes.
