And the Worst Website Award goes to...

Indeed. Ignoring the fact that the front page actually weighs in at a total 182KB (40KB for just the document), that's fairly average for a front page these days. Sure it could be slimmed down with decent markup, but I wouldn't call it one of the site's negative points.

Code:
[B] MARKUP	TOTAL[/B]
yahoo.co.uk	24KB	183KB
news.bbc.co.uk	90KB	299KB
amazon.co.uk	14KB	150KB
microsoft.com	31KB	151KB
google.com	2KB	10KB
live.com	2KB	20KB

Webmaster.. haha.. people still use that term?
Yep, we do. No doubt there's some funkier alternative these days.

There are some pretty bad web sites out there. Constraints like budget and lack of skills don't help but some are beyond excuses! :)

Almost as good as one of the recent "Web Pages that Suck" postings: http://www.michrenfest.com

Nearly every page is an image map weighing in at ~1MB, or bloated HTML with handy Flash navigation, all fronted by a lovely Flash splash screen.
Beautiful.

lol and then its all a big image map that slowly loads - pure gold :D
