well this is a bit of a shock! After season 9 he’ll be gone!

We’re hearing that, by the end of Season 9 of AMC’s hit drama series The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes himself will be walking away. That’s right TWD enthusiasts, Andrew Lincoln will be growling his way through the post-apocalyptic setting for just one more season before calling it quits. And while we won’t be spoiling just how the series’ founding character makes his exit, we do know that fans can only expect to see Lincoln in half-a-dozen episodes of the upcoming season.

Walking dead has been hit or miss for years now, so many episodes are just filler\flashbacks and so many deaths are totally stupid (the guy who trained morgan being incredibly stupid). It's just lost any momentum it had and it takes far too many episodes for simple things to get resolved. From what i read a while back the ratings have been declining steadily so seems like making Norman the lead is just a sticking plaster to try and get them through the next season.

Since the bloke with one eye Walking Dead went down hill. Then once Negan arrived Walking Dead was, dead to me.

It was good when killing zombies was the thing, then killing zombies became so blasé and they just went into over drive killing anybody and everybody...:o

Stopped watching it one episode before the finale last season and haven't bothered since.

Sadly FTWD this season seems to be infected with the same meh that has been dragging TWD down the last few seasons after starting to feel like it was finding its legs last season.

I think I got to around the end of the fifth series - or was it the sixth, can't be sure, but I don't think I can be bothered with it anymore.

Not sure how you can lead when your the 'strong and silent grunty type' hopefully this means TWD will finally wrap up and end before he leaves.

I got halfway through season 8, and did not return after the mid season finale.

Me and the missus have ZERO urge to watch it

I think it's the lack or "road trips" or journey that has killed people's interest. There's no real surprises anymore, which is hard to do when they've got a whole world of unexplained zombie mystery out there.

I presume this explains the rushed "Lets kill rick" at the end of the last episode

The show have already come out and said that's not what the last scene was about at all, it was plotting to kill Negan despite Ricks show of mercy, not to kill or overthrow Rick

And season 9 will be the last, surely? Rick IS The Walking Dead, can't see how it continues without him. Everywhere saying he'll only be in up to six episodes in the 16 episode series. Urgh

My thoughts exactly.
Andi.

not surprised he's jumping ship - its been garbage for a while now and i finally stopped at the beginning of the latest season - don't miss it at all.

Show has become progressively worse year on year for the past 4 seasons or so. Viewship is less than half what it ways two seasons ago. I've watched every episode up to now, but I'm willing to let it die.
