Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) released

Downloaded, flashed, booted, signed in, installing all my apps...

Remembered I forgot to backup my Apex settings again! Every flippin time!

Anyone found a way to root yet?

Realised how horrid it is to not have an adblocker. Missing Pie controls. Titanium Backup. etc...

I've gone for a clean install on the Nexus 5. Finally an excuse to get rid of full disk encryption.

It's a nexus device. You don't need to find a way...

You don't need titanium backup on Marshmallow, it will backup app data to the cloud now and restore when you reinstall an app etc.

You just need a custom kernel to allow root to work e.g. elemental X (Dev preview) works on M for the Nexus 6.

Just flashed 6.0 and it's restoring my apps. I can finally dig in and see whats what!

Wow it's even restored my wallpaper!

I'm trying to flash my Nexus 5 using the Google instructions but stuck on adb not being able to see my device.

I went and downloaded an adb driver but still nothing.

Any thoughts?

Once connected, what do you have listed under Device Manager under the Android Devices section, should have something along the lines of

Android Composite ADB Interface

It just shows up as Portable Devices - Nexus 5

Do I have set the environment variables? Like this.

I think I've done it using a different guide.

USB debugging was missing. Why Google dont include that in the guide I dont know.

Nah, you just need to change the drivers for that device, you need to use the Google USB Drivers so it shows up as ADB rather than portable one

Are you using the SDK or just the minimal ADB download?
