if you have a folder in the dock, you can swipe for the folder and have click as an app too. dead handy!

well then i'm not sure what's better from go to nova. go prime is £3.17 which removes the ads, nova prime is similar price which adds the features that go gives for free. what else does nova offer?

hangouts is also crap as an sms program. it literally has no features to it other then free to send messages.

You could open the Google Search app?

For SMS, try Textra, Sliding Messaging, Hello or 8sms

I'm actually quite liking using hangouts, I don't need lots of fancy features in my SMS app. The only thing I'm missing from Handcent is the home screen widget.

i like using hangouts too, for a free messaging app and you can call direct so could be used on a tablet it's great, however features i can't do without are individual text tones, sms blocker by keyword (i get up to 10 spam messages a day), and pop up for when not in the app so i can instantly reply

Deleted the conversation fine here, although i'm on 4.2.2 not KitKat (was purely nosing in this thread and spotted the mention to Hello

I tried hangouts the other day, as my g/f and her family are all trying to talk on skype together but it costs for more than 2 people to video chat and hangouts is meant to allow up to 10. Unfortunately on both phone and pc there is horrendous microphone feedback or something making it unusable. Dont have the issue on skype which is a bit annoying as it was looking like a really sweet feature of hangouts :/

Really nice app but yeah it doesn't delete the conversations on kitkat.

Google hangouts.... trying it on my S2 before I upgrade to the Nx5 or GS4.

I wish the bubbles where coloured. Also swiping left and right is a pain as it deletes entire message histories!!

Any one know how to stop the sms preview text in the status bar when you recive a message using hangouts?

Just thought I'd follow up with the SMS thing, I just tried hello on 4.4, deleting threads works for me. Looks like they updated it on the 8th
