android music player

Massive fail.

Poweramp is indeed very good, but as far as freebies go, Winamp is good also.

You don't need to pay, if you don't mind lots of popups.;)

Also there is a 30 day free trial, and it's hardly the most expensive app if you are going to use it a lot.

It might be better if the OP lists the features he wants from a music player (why are we calling them apps now? I never called the music player on my old N80 an app, nor do i the music player on my Linux box) Then people will be able to provide better recommendations.

because it's an application you install on your phone

By that rationale the default player isn't an application because it is already there?

It's no different to 5 years ago, i could install stuff on my old nokia, but no-one said app this or app that. Same with say Open Office, it is an application but no-one in their right mind would ever say, oh you need to install the open office app on your PC to view this.

Do you have OCD or something?

Does it really matter if the word "app" is tagged onto the end of the name of a program?

"You need to installed the Open Office application onto your phone" seems like a perfectly legitimate piece of English to me?

Back on topic:
ash_scotland88 - Could also try doubleTwist, it's free and you can pay for the AirSync add-on if you wish to sync your music over your home network but it isn't mandatory and you can sync via USB as per normal.

It means the same thing though. It would be like me saying download Adblock Plus for Firefox....or saying download the Adblock Plus plugin for Firefox.

Took a look at that video. The app looks no better than the stock Android 2.2 one. In fact the stock music players has more appealing looks.
