The single best feature has to be the removal of those silly bean emoticons!

Does anyone know if you can change the colour of the quick toggle settings back to black? Not sure I like the off white colour theme. In fact, I think it looks bloody awful. Hopefully it won't made the final version.

Thanks.

flat design is so 2015 :D

seriously though, they do kinda stand out against the rest of the UI. Think you are right, maybe if they were flat and not so colourful they would look better.

Yeah, they look better. In fact, they all look better than what they actually do.

Looking at them right now on my phone, they look just like the ones on samsung/whatsapp. Yes, an improvement over the horrible beans or whatever the name is, but could be better like the above pic.

Installed 4 this morning. STILL not sorted out the bluetooth issues. Read the reddit q&a and also the huge thread on the google forums, and at least (finally) the google engineers have admitted that bluetooth on android has always been poor.

They say O will bring some much needed stability improvements along with new codecs. Here's hoping!

as it stands, no spotify/google music in the car, and skipping whilst using my bose qc35 headphones

Everything else seems a little more polished to me now. Notifications are super fast to come in and has that 'almost complete' feel to it.

Shout out to the BBC android team on their use of the new apis :-)

You know it took Google years to get the correct date displayed on the calendar icon.....would I be correct in thinking it was due to an apple patent?

Just wondering if the clock icon will ever tell the right time.

It will, there was an interview with Android design devs a while back stating the reason for the off white colouring was to keep things consistent above all else. You can of course theme them back to whatever you prefer with system themes/substratum etc, none of which require root.

Android O is officially launching next week, by the way. Expect OTAs for Pixels immediately after.

I'm warming to it I must admit

A lot of people have this opinion but I never really noticed any issues. Use it every day to connect to the car as well.

It's a strange one, as I have never been happy with bluetooth on android for a few years now. The google engineers admitted on the google forums they knew of issues and where working on finally addressing them all.

Personally, I have these when using 8 beta

Pixel > Bose QC35 Headphones = Google Play Music & Spotify suffer from music stutter
Pixel > BMW iDrive5 = Google Play Music & Spotify do not play through car speakers. Telephone calls work only when someone calls me, not when I call them

and the most complained about on the forums using android N was bluetooth disconnects which I suffer from in the car (probably 50% of the time) and my portable JAM speaker around 25% of the time

It did it on my oneplus 3 and galaxy s6 so not just with the Pixel

the big question is when will this be available on my S7E

I would bet a months pay Samsung haven't even started developing it yet, despite the beta been out since what March? They seen to wait after the final version which baffles me. Beta 3 had the finished apis so everyone can get ahead of the game.

There was an article actually about this, and the feeling was they do this to make customers buy the latest phones and leave the big version updates for months/years. I think it was Motorola who took over 12 months before they launched M (although it could have been another manufacturer).
