Android O

Well it would seem the article stating they found animation clock code hidden within the image was a load of bull

yup, the icon clock is still static

and google, can you have a word with the google keep team please. They haven't updated to the new dynamic icon api

Jumped on the BETA program last night to get the OTA straight away. Not sure whether that was the best way of doing it, but it seems to have worked OK.

Unfortunately bluetooth still sucks with my headphones :(

I'd be very disappointed if they STILL haven't got bluetooth sorted on 8. How many years is it going to take them. Spotify in the car is a must for me.
If it doesn't work later today when I'm driving home I will reevaluate my options.

That's strange, I use multiple android devices with my iDrive and no issues at all streaming music. Could it be an issue with iDrive? (as in, have you had anything work with it?)

iPhone works 100% of the time

of all the android phones I've tested, everything is great on Nougat apart from the pairing issues sometimes. Once it's paired it's fine, but it's shame I can't simply jump in the car and have it working first time. Oreo has been (and still is) a pain.

I've done a factory reset and will repair again later today just to see if that works. Perhaps something from the beta was left over, stale cache for example.

Do you mean this interaction?

Go into settings (not the proper settings, the settings icon next to the wallpaper and widgets one), and change the icons to anything other than system default. You can change the icons to squares, teardrops etc etc

To be honest, google keep isn't part of the operating system but you would have thought with it being a google app they would have designed the icons

Well I hope it isn't the final version as bluetooth is STILL a mess. Not working in the car again. It did start working once after I first paired it, but same doing the same old tricks.

Confusingly, any and all mentions of beta have been removed. Confused as to what's going on.

What I will say, is that if spotify doesn't start working soon I'm switching back to a phone that works properly.....and of all my testing it leaves me a single choice of an iphone (which I hate).

Suppose I could buy an ipod touch

:edit:

ok, so it looks like it is final?

My version is opr6.170623.012 which is the same found here

Was gonna post in there but it says "only issues after getting the Oreo update" and I've had the same issues on Nougat. Really seems like it might be a hardware issue.

I'm starting to think that way now to be honest. Although my issues have been much worse with 8, 7 wasn't great.

Samsung s8 or oneplus 5?

Why would they? The feeling that you're now running old hardware on an old OS almost certainly drives a fair few people to upgrade. More cash in their pocket while saving money by taking an eternity to develop new ROMs.

Yep, there was an article written about this a few months ago. They delay software upgrades to entice users to their latest models.

I'm not liking all the issues on the google forums. To be honest, I can't ever remember an android release as buggy as this one.
Can't comment on the youtube ones as I've yet to use it in anger.

The android team have reached out to me to do some troubleshooting and bug reporting. Quite ironic and I'm getting a sense of dejavu here.
Testing bugs after the beta program. Don't hold your breath on this one.

I might have to look those up, as it's working perfectly fine on my Pixel so far.

If you would be willing to share your findings on the google thread linked above. It may help speed up the fixing of issues for those users who have them.
If you have any bluetooth connected devices, please list them as working.
