Android or Apple?

Just because youtube and other sites don't use flash it shouldn't put someone of a device like the iPhone.

It's becoming HTML5 so no need to worry, and with the native app for iPhone it plays like a dream.

Mate AcidHell2 is saying youtube in it's entirety needs flash - only some vids are HTML5. And LoveFilm needs flash fullstop.

It does though, as lovefilm is one of the main reasons I want a tablet for. But as I said they are making an app and on the other hand android as of yet don;t have a tv/film store.

Even jail broken I didn;t think Iphone/ipad played flash as there's no flash app programmed for ios.

Almost all the vids on youtube can be played on an iOs device with no problem.

If someone e-mails me a youtube link, I can play it on the iPhone fine, even if it's only had a few hundred views. Even the youtube thread in GD can be viewed on my iPhone...

I would try out an iPad for yourself if you can, the lack of Flash isn't as much of a problem as some people seem to think.

So you wan't to stream, the new home sharing can do that :) :p

??? what is this

I want to stream of the internet when staying in hotels, for something I allready pay for. As part of my lovefilm subscription which i get blu-rays for. i get thousands of free films to stream.

it still is a problem as you cant play embedded videos.
does the native app allow HD option or just HQ?

This is the problem..... people think we need flash now. We just don't.

We don;t need a lot of computer languages, but if the product you want only supports that language then you need it. It would be great if everyone moved over to html5 as flash is buggy as hell. But not everyone is.

I take it you have ipad or iphone? any chance you could see if skyfire plays it?

ai ano what you mean, I don't own an iPad.... only started playing with one the beginning of this week. I do have an iPhone 3GS though but don't watch movies on it just video clips.

See if Skyfire plays what? Flash content on the iPhone/iPad?

I can play embedded videos, I just tap on the play button in the middle and the video loads and plays fullscreen.

As I'm using a 3GS I do not see an HD option, but my screen is only 320p so HD would be pointless for me.

An HD may show up on an iPad however due to a higher res screen. Next time I'm at work I'll harass my workmate to try an HD video on her iPad. :)

I'll go and try it now.

Edit: iPad plays it embedded as normal in default Safari, no problems.
