Android Phone upgrade from Samsung S4

I am still using a Samsung Galaxy S4.

In terms of speed I don't have any big issues, a little faster would be better, but I don't have to be at the cutting edge.

My main issue is the small storage capacity. Yes, you can have an SD Card. Some apps use it well. Spotify stores all the downloaded music on the SD Card without you even telling it. However, even after I have moved all the apps you can move to the card, I am still short with 8GB.

I want a phone with 64GB plus, ideally 128G.

Would you persist with Samsung, or are there better choices for Android phones out there now? I don't want an edge screen and I don't want a smaller screen than that of the S4. Other than that I am not super picky.

I paid £250 for the S4, it had already been out for a while. What would you go for in my position and for a similar budget?

Ideally it should also be a phone that is not likely to catch fire. You know, just a quirk of mine...I don't mind if that means it charges slowly.
