I've never played any of the Anno titles. What's a good one to start with?

Not sure if I'll even like it, they just look cool.

1404 tbh! I started on day one with the first so each one was an easy progression from the last. Best bet is tbh to start either with the missions or a continuous game set up with no enemies / disasters. Thats how I feel them out.

Puchased this game :D :D, it's awesome and thanks to Reloaded :p I can play the game without using Ubisoft's stupid DRM

Ah yeah only just cracked yesterday. I still keep an eye on this stuff. But tbh even with the crappy DRM I'm staying legit as otherwise I cant MP, and would also miss out on the voting / career progression / ark benefits!

If this game had been cracked on day one I would have still bought it. I was only waiting for it to be affordable to buy :)

I dod remember buying Anno 1404 on its day release, which combined at the time of me changing my motherboard cpu and memory. Well it had three activations and due to the above hardware changes I used them up. No matter how many times I posted in their forums or contacted UBI I could not play the game again until a later patch removed the DRM thingy.

Yeah I have the disk for 1404 sat in my drawer next to me but cant play the damn game without help from certain sources. Luckily 1404 is still playable mp in such circumstances. I'm lucky I wont have to face such a problem with 2070 though as I doubt I will ever be able to afford new hardware :p

The best thing that I bought for me was a laptop for my wife.!! That way she can play RCT and Theme Hospital until the cows come home and I can do some manly grr grr gaming on my PC :D

All she talks about at the moment is bloaty heads.!

To be fair I do still love theme park. And yes the best thing I ever bought was a decent pc for my parents. Cant abide them horning in on my machine :p

So these world events, how often do they change?

Quoted from the wiki:
"Current Events change daily, unlike World Event where it could take a month."

We got the first one a few days after release so this one should be here a while. I'm still hoping someone here could give me tips on the last mission :p

*edit
I'm working on a tech island atm on a continuous game. Basically an island thats purely tech residences so that I can build loads of research facilities and spam out research. Finished off the special building tree already, now working on units.
As you can see the Academy is the main focus with the labs being in range of all buildings from where they are, and the buildings being built purely in range of the academy backed up by the town centers. Trying to work out how to expand it now.

So yes, every single depot and warehouse gets +80 storage and 2 more transport units, all while being 40% cheeper to run :p That gained me 200 income that did, while maxing out most of my islands storage!

Where do you get those things from?

Edit.

Ok so I just logged in and did the voting thing, and got performance approvals or something.

Am I to take it that we should be min/maxing and stacking all missions with one of the three factions?

Just about to start this - think my profile name is Captainrave.

Anyone got any tips? :)

Love this game already - really like the voting system :)

Edit: Getting massive graphical problems with this - may need to revert to 11.11a AMD drivers?

I'm assuming eventually there will be enough points to cover every faction. These world events give points for all 3 though. Atm I'm powering through one faction because I'm not doing the campaign and theres where a lot of the points are I think.

Also to your first question. You get those items from research with the tech faction! They can be socketed in your ark and reused on any new mp / continuous game.
