Sorry if its been asked before but how do you 'claim' multiple islands?

I've got the one, but for example if I want to expand my build area i eventually do it but im not sure how to do it the 'proper' way?

For example, do you have to keep putting city centers after city centers in order to be able to reach the entire island?

Also how do you build city centers on other islands where there are better resources etc?

Grab a boat. put 5-10 tools and building mats on it (cant remember the exact number) then sail said boat to a nice open beach on the other island. It will come up with an icon allowing you to play a new harbour.

Also I wanted to ask I'm selecting the "continous" option for a more free roam type game -- is this the option everyone is choosing if they dont want to do missions? As I saw some mention of being able to select a island size etc.

Also as I am building city centers to try to expand, the construction area seems to be staying on the 1st city centre I made, why is the construction radius not increasing to the entire island? (I've split 4 city centers so the radius of all covers the entire island)

Decided to take the plunge and buy this purley based on what I have read here on OCUK, haven't put the game down - totally hooked by it. Lovely.

I understand that'll turn the notifications off but I was more talking about the selection of island size?

The only area I can see is where you pick easy, medium, or hard which has small, medium and large island sizes respectivley.

Also if anyone could help re; the island expansion construction area

When you start a new Continuous Game you'll get Easy/Medium/Hard choices. When you pick one, you'll have two tabs appear at the top - one is to pick who's on the map, the other is "Game Settings" where you can edit the map specifics, one of those is "Island Size". Another thing you might want to change is on the same screen in the bottom right corner which is "Map Size".

The construction radius shown is only for that city center you pick, if you double clicked the city centre it'll show all of the city centre's construction areas together.
 
thanks :) I was just alt-tabbing and F5'ing this page. Completely hooked on this game!

Heres the screenshot I'm talking about, I can't build is there something I must build to 'expand' the area?



I can only build in the "blue" area but no where in the "green" area...

That's a production building, it has to be near a warehouse or supply depot. You can only place houses / public buildings like television stations / fire stations / hospitals near a city center.

Ah and another query... when im low on say Tools I order them from the Ark but I dont have a boat so I can't get them delivered??? :o

Click on your ark, in the top left corner of the Ark window that appears in the bottom right corner of the screen there should be a button that has a ship on it, this will order you a commando ship. Make sure you haven't lost your ship also in case you already have it, look on the mini map in the bottom left corner and one of the buttons under the mini map looks like a ship - hold shift and left click that and it'll cycle through all your ships.
 
^^No idea why you can't build in the green area? Sure there is a city center or warehouse near?

Glad I am not the only one hooked - when starting a continuous game, don't do what I did the first time around and forget to enable the passive traders and arks :p

Was playing the military mission earlier , but I had nothing but boats?

I declared war but the other party had heli/jets and I built everything required and had around 1500 people but it wasn't progressing onto any other new buildings etc?

Example, in the harbour it asked for Engineers - how is that done? If its done by levelling up the workers I met all the conditions they asked for??

Sorry for the questions!

Also, playing the 'continous' gametype I experienced the same, I got to a point where I wasn't progressing in terms of building new things etc it kind of came to a halt even though I did everything? Any one have any ideas why?
