Annoying Memory Issue

Hey Folks,

I've got an extremely annoying problem that i just can't solve.

I recently upgraded from 8 GB Samsung Green to 16GB Kingston HyperX Beast 2400Mhz.

The problem is i cannot set the 2400mhz XMP Profile, i can set the 2133mhz profile and lower the timings with that from 11-13-13-30/2T to 10-12-12-28/1T at the 2200mhz divider, which is OCCT/Linpack/AVX/Game stable.

I have tried the 2400 profile with very loose timings, Ring/Agent/Analog/Digital offset voltages upto 0.2v, DDR at 1.5-1.75v, stock bios settings, different slots and some other things i cannot remember.

It did work once, but i tried to lower the timings from 11-13-14-32/2T-312TRFC, which didnt post - at which point the fun began!

System is:

4670K Delidded
Gigabyte z97x Gaming5
AX760w
GTX 980
Xonar D2X

Help would be greatly appreciated! :o

I've got this memory coming tomorrow for my GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 so it'll be interesting to see what happens. Just updated BIOS to F5 not that it mentions anything about memory support.

Settings taken from the data sheet:
XMP TIMING PARAMETERS

JEDEC: DDR3-1600 CL11-11-11 @1.5V

XMP Profile #1: DDR3-2400 CL11-13-14 @1.65V

XMP Profile #2: DDR3-2133 CL11-13-13 @1.6V

I've currently got 8GB Teamgroup Extreme 2666MHz in my GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 @ 1.65v. been running for over a year with it in and no issue. I don't see why you'd have a problem with a slower speed. I'll post tomorrow what happens when I put the Kingston in its place.

No luck for me either.

Teamgroup runs fine at 2666MHz @ 1.65v on XMP Profile
Kingston at 2400Mhz will not boot but so far works fine at 2133MHz @ 1.60v on XMP Profile. I tried to manually configure it but 1.65v is not an option in the drop down box.

I'll get on to Kingston and see what they say. Not the end of the world if I have to run it at 2133MHz but if it's a simple setting that needs changing then worth asking them. I was a bit bewildered by how many settings there are in the BIOS for memory.

Result!

Just posting a little update,

Got the RAM to work fine using the 2400mhz XMP profile.
Even managed to lower timings whilst using it :p

All i did was update BIOS, then after a couple of weeks i remembered this issue and set the 2400mhz XMP profile (Just to see what would happen) and low and behold it worked! :D

I then thought why the hell not try and tinker with it, so i lowered the timings from 11-13-14-2T to 11-13-13-1T and its working fine!.

Ill admit im a bit confused why it is working now, but it is, so i have no idea.

Might be worth a try for you others with this problem.
