Oooh I'm unbanned :). Was fun. So, did I get banned because I committed meme-crime in the thread and voted 'yay' in the poll?

Anyway, related question - so if permabanned is forever, what actually is the difference between banned and just suspended?

Glad you took it in good sport. :)

There's little difference really - I think it affects what you're able to see/view/do when logged on.

All a bit of fun. Was expecting it not to be lifted until tomorrow, though - thought I might get some work done. Never mind, eh?

What I think would be really interesting for us commoners, dunno if it's ever been asked before, but how's about a small screen grab of your 'special' version of the forum - where is the ban button? what does it look like? is there a hammer icon? does it make a satisfying sound?

It can obviously be a lot of fun. A little glimpse of it would be really insightful for us. It is Christmas. :)

I can re-ban you if you want! :p

It really doesn't look any different, we just get the options on a drop down when we click on a person's user name, and edit button next to the trust icon, and access to forum tools on drop down to close/merge/delete threads etc... :) No sound, and no hammer icon :(

There's someone on this forum that apparently actively looks for opportunities to post the various troll faces, and shoehorns them in wherever he can, most of the time when they're only tenuously relevant.

I don't understand the appeal. If the shoe fits, go for it, but being the guy that posts troll faces all the time is an accolade that no one should want :/

See your thread tools section that has nothing in it?

Their drop down has moderate thread tools in there.
I think for banning users that has to be done in MOD CP or the such like. Also dons may get to see your IP underneath your profile pic.

Think that's most of the notable stuff...

Get rid of them! Most memes get so horribly over used some one actually has to say stop before we forget about them and get something new...

The weeks after "that bear" and the jesus picture were banned were nice as it got people to think of something new and funny instead of dull stagnation that we keep experiencing by repeating old memes (flogging a dead horse comes to mind).

Do like the lol-username one just as that comes and goes but most are terrible and dull now.

Oh and forum in jokes are separate and shouldn't go...

Awww no large animated hammer-shaped ban button with sound effects :(. To coin a phrase - I am disappoint. Now if i were to become a mod, the first thing I'd request...

...now there's a novel posting idea - I could continually promote myself as a mod for, say, 2012. Yeah! I could do a Liampope for mod sig. And a facebook group or something...

Would that be OK mods? I'd need a catchier name for my campaign though. Halfdaft or something. Yeah - Halfdaft for mod 2012. Watch this space...

:)
