Annual Review Time

Im not too good with the legal mumbo jumbo, but i wouls say if you are doing more work and you feel you deserve a pay rise i'd say go for it.

However,30% is quite a lot even with the increase of cost of living i would say 5% its more than exceptable.

I would say if you have hadto learn new skills that make you more valuable, then ask away, but dont expect double figures unless you are underpaid compared to similar positions in your area.

I asked for 25%, I got negotiated down to 17% and an extra two days off BUT I had to take on extra responsibilities - effectively a promotion.

Ask for the pay rise but you usually find big increase come from promotions, not pay rises. Doing the job of two people doesn't equal a promotion - promotions are usually an increase in responsibility.

True, especially if there is a structure and hierarchy in the company.

You'll get jack if your at the top of your pay bracket....

No negotiation where I work, if you don't like what is offered you get nothing. We're being spun the 'ol your lucky to have a job.... x% increase across the board....#### the lot of um.

Heh, well things went quite well. Lasted longer then expected because we started talking about whisky.

11.5% pay rise, annual bonus, and no more mention of the pensions thankyouverymuchyoungsir.

Is this still the job that you despised earlier in the year?
