Annual Review Time

Congrats that man :-)

They probably respect you a lot more now knowing that you're brave enough to fight for stuff.

Expect crate loads of responsibility coming your way in future (that's a good thing in my book - maybe not in others though).

im thinking come april and my annual performance review and objectives for the next year im gonna tell my public sector employer if they only offer me a 1.5% pay rise, which is an effective 2.5% cut if inflation stays at 4% they will get 2.5% less work out of me.
Think it will work :)

Is this still the job that you despised earlier in the year?
Yep.

Good for you, anything in mind? :)
Not yet no.

Well. I've never been confident about negotiations of this sort, but I'd just say go for it :).

I wasn't expecting my review today but I got it - went very well and I got the biggest bonus I've ever had (yes, city jobs still pay ridiculous bonuses despite what you're told....and I've only been there for 4 months, Sept->Dec inclusive), I feel great now and it definitely makes me want to work harder next year!

Bring on next year!
