some really lovely shots there, with you and raymond lin its really inspiring and im looking forward to shooting a friends wedding in august.

awsome van too!!

Really really nice set, great photos! The only comment I have is that maybe you use the 'peeking through the bushes' technique a little too much. Stunning photos though :)

Fantastic work :) love em!

all in AV too :D everyone keeps saying shoot in manual to me for weddings! but every time i see your work its like if An Exception can do it! :D why can't I!

Inspiration!

Cheers everyone! :)

@Mp4
If the camera's metering is linked to the AF points, then there shouldn't be any need to shoot full manual as you spend too much time chimping. I use spot metering 90% of the time.
If the focus points are not linked and you have to use the exposure lock button, and also if you focus recompose, then shooting full manual is a more compelling argument.

nice shots. well done. PP is good and consistent but some pics are a bit overexposed. did you create a template and just applied it to most if not all the pics?

Some pics it works fine but others are overexposed.

great work though.

Question though. Is it actually ok for you to post wedding shots on the internet? personaly if i hired a pro photograther to do my wedding i would not allow them to post the pics online for anyone to see and steal :(

Cheers

Then you wouldn't be my client, but then who steals web res pics of someone else's wedding?
I would also check your monitor if you are seeing overexposure. Some cheap monitors will show blown highlights instead of detail (even at same brightness), not sure if calibrations helps them though.

Well with the new copyright law, it makes it far easier for anyone to steal our pics. just saying.

People can steal even your web res pics and put it on there portfolio!!

Also my monitor is a dell u2410 IPS panel. no cheap monitor my friend :)

Just be careful in sharing pics thats all or slap a nice watermark on it :)

Whilst I'm not coming from the copyright angle, I'd also think it's not totally professional and/or really something I agree with/be comfortable with to post over 100 photos of my wedding to a public form/and or place.

yup agreed.

thought i was the only one who felt the same. not having ago at the OP though so dont be offended. your shots are great but i would not hire you knowing you would share my wedding pics all over the net.

Actually, it's just I'd rather not post my pictures where they are not welome.

No one said they weren't welcome, but unfortunately it seems you cannot take a slight criticism as has been seen before with a frosty reception to some people saying they have thought something was over grainy etc.

If you aren't up for any critique at all then don't post on a public forum, especially in it's own separate thread where critique is generally the norm.

Learn to take something on the chin and think about it, rather than throw the toys out of the pram.

WTF? So you wasn't saying I shouldn't be posting pictures on this public forum, even though they are freely viewable on my blog which is itself public, and they will likely be featured on a national wedding blog (with the B&G's permission of course).

Anyway I'm done, it's always the same BS from a few.

If you read my post, I specifically said 'posting over 100 photos' and that I wouldn't be comfortable with it nor find it professional.

Sure, 5 - 10 photos of a set is good, you get a feel for it and it shows off the wedding nicely. But displaying that much of a special, private day is a bit OTT imo.

Plus, I don't know if this is true or not, but if that amount from every wedding is displayed in your portfolio/blog, that would be off putting too as although I'd like to see a large variation it would seem that you wouldn't have quality control/selection.

No one said they didn't like the photos, jonney infact said quite the opposite. If you don't want opinions on anything, don't post on a public forum.

You seem fixated on the issue being critique. The is being told I shouldn't be posting my images here. My wedding photography is about telling a story, not a hand full of images.

Look at blogs like rock my wedding, they include 100 images. Is that not professional either?

You said the images weren't welcome, not us.

No one said they weren't welcome, just that they personally would not be comfortable or find it professional that over 100 images of their wedding day popped up online on forums etc.

The photos are certainly good and I can imagine all of your clients are happy with the work that you produce, but it seems you are yet to understand opinions and that people will have and express them.

uhh... whether the pictures are good/bad is irrelevant. If someone shares their work and posters tell them they don't think they should be posting it, do you think they are going to want to;
a)keep it up
b)post any more

Anyway that's all I got to say about it.
