Another Brazilian for Man Utd

It's great that Ferguson can afford the luxury of spending £6million on an unproven player. And I'd bet that he hasn't actually watched him play either, he's probably going on the recommendation from his brother (Our Chief Scout) Martin Ferguson. If that's the case, I have no faith in this decision at all. Alex Ferguson bought Djemba Djemba and Kleberson on his brother's recommendation and didn't even actually watch them play before they were signed. And look they failed miserably.

If Ferguson does not get the big name midfielder that he and David Gill promised back in January I hope the Glazers step in and sack them both. Buying two defenders when we did not need them was a waste of resources and money. Did they do much for the rest of the season, in a word, no.

******' Ferguson ***** me off to no end.

i know what you mean but kerlon seems quite talented. evra wasnt really needed for this season,i cant really say how good he is because i havent seen him play that much but he must be better than silvestre. vidic from what ive seen this season looks like a quite good buy.

Vidic looks to be a promising defender from the 'Stam' mould, but we didn't need to buy him in January. Although Evra has only played a handful of games, I think he won't make much of an impact. Ferguson also loaned out quite a few young players like Bardsley who could have played an important role in the latter half of the season. I don't think Ferguson has any marbles left. :(

Kleberson was a good footballer.
Played almost entirely out of position in his time at united.
He's not a player that can give out bone crunching tackles, neither is he a rampaging box to box player.
But he had some great touches, he get the ball under no matter how it came to him.

Kerlon is absolutely awesome on Football Manager 2006, although saying that it takes a few years for him to get really good. He's still very young and will be a superb prospect for the future.

I'm sure that was the main selling point.

Kleberson was signed after the world cup wasnt he?
Surely fergie saw him play in that and he did look good.

actually he looked crap in the world cup, hardly touched the ball, didn't really need to considering the players in the Brazil team. He was only signed to help Ronaldinho settle, when Kenyon messed up the Ronaldinho transfer it was too late to call off the signing of Kleberson.

yeah i agree we didnt need the two defenders during january(when we needed CM's) but nevertheless vidic is a good signing :)
bardsley has a great future at united i just hope fergie wont send him on loan again.

I'd love to see him play over here. He would get clobbered :p

Still, it takes some real talent to be able to do that. Takes a mean free kick too from videos I've seen of him before. Looks to have more up his sleave than the ability to balance the ball on his head whilst running in and out of defenders, which is something in itself!

Exciting prospect :)

.................and look where that got us.
Kleberson was/is a good footballer.

I don't always agree with what you say.. :p

But I agree on that. I liked Kleberson and didn't think he was ever given a fair chance for Man United. Often played on the wing wasn't he? He never did much wrong when I watched him. Very tidy player.
