Another 'Check mai build plz!'

Dont get those ssd's you will be much better off getting a good 80gb drive such as the Intel x-25m...the value ones are good but the x-25m are quality.......Well i think im right in saying that as long as you use 'TRIM' then you wont have any problems.....

I'll look into it

blimey! Do it!

Not sure you need the artic paste, unless you got some heatsink you not mentioned.
Used up my last drop after lapping my Q6600

Well if you cut down on a few things like the price of the sound card and PSU and SSD you could get a i7 build instead which I think might be move of an improvement. Anways it looks really good man, hope it goes well for you.

Do you think the sound card is a bad idea? Since the board comes with some sort of sound header anyway?
I have no clue what to look with sound cards - I just went for the one with the most reviews lol

Asus xonar DX sound card got a slightly better score than a x-fi titanium in this months custom pc, or their sister site www.bit-tech.net

Edit. Strange I can't find the sound cards on their website.

Had a wee check and it seems that TRIM doesn't function on SSDs in a RAID 0 'yet'. Apparently this is being worked on. Also the 80Gb X-25 M is actually slightly cheaper than two 40Gb x-25 Vs

That might be a better choice. SSDs are still in the 'early adopter' stage imo. Best to do plenty o' research before taking the plunge.

Ah, well I want my TRIM support :) and yes it is slightly cheaper.
Humm about all this pagefile business though. Read I should just set it to the minimum on the drive and then whack another on the HDD at the full size.

Opinions may vary wildly on this but to be honest onboard audio ought to be ok for most users. Might be best to leave the sound card out initially unless you have a specific use for it in mind. If you find the onboard sound sucky then you can always purchase one after the fact.

I never used a sound card before and just find the onboard ones just fine and you could save yourself £100. Just go with what viking said above and see how you find it before buying a sound card. Good luck

As misguided as this may be, my theory for a soundcard was to offload the resources of processing sound onto the card.
I think what you both suggested was a good idea, get the card at a later date should I feel some desperate need to.
Also thank's for the info on the SSD guys.
I think this is pretty much set!
:D
